PhatNotes has been among the leading notes organizers on the Windows platform since its first release and has won numerous industry awards. PhatNotes for Outlook is the special version of PhatNotes, that allows users to synchronize Outlook notes stored in multiple notes folders with PhatNotes on Windows Mobile devices.

The new version now supports Outlook 2010 and features improved compatibility with Windows 7. Because ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center do not work with the 64-bit version of Office 2010, only the 32-bit version of Outlook 2010 is currently supported.

WritePad for iPad lets you take notes in your own handwriting with an iPad stylus pen (such as True Touch Stylus Pen from hdaccessory.com) or even your finger. The state-of-the-art handwriting recognition software will adapt and learn your style of writing. You can use simple gestures to select text, cut, copy, paste, and insert special characters. WritePad allows users to share its notes and documents with other iPad or iPhone devices and desktop computers.

New in WritePad 4.0

Introducing new Handwriting Input Panel in addition to the full screen handwriting mode.

The new input method allows users to enter text by handwriting on the input panel which occupies approximately the same space as the on-screen keyboard. The handwriting is immediately converted to the digital text and the intermediate results are presented to a user before the final output is sent to the application.

Using the handwriting input panel may be significantly faster than writing by hand in the full screen mode, as it helps to reduce the error rate during recognition. Users can now choose either the full screen, or the input panel handwriting mode depending on their preference.

Ballmer Compliments Apple…and Other D8 Conference Oddities

They’ve [Apple] done a good job of coming from nowhere a few years ago. They’ve done the best job on the browser. People focus on the apps, but the browser is really the thing that has distinguished their phones from others.

There you have it.  From one Steve to another.  That is Steve Ballmer’s comment on Apple’s iPhone.  I would consider that fairly high praise from our friends in Redmond.  Then again, it is no secret that Microsoft was pretty much blindsided when Apple steamrolled over the stagnating Windows Mobile Operating System.  Want to know what else Ballmer had to say when he sat down with WSJ’s Walt Mossberg?  Check out all of his thoughts on Macs, PCs, Android, and the full spectrum of other topics at the D8 conference.  Read the full interview at All Things D.

And lest you forget, MONKEY BOY!!…a little pre-weekend fun, compliments of Microsoft.
