Task2Gather Now On Windows Mobile

I have been a fan of Vito’s new online task manager, Tas2Gather, for about 5 months or so; ever since they were kind enough to give me an advance look at the beta version.  Since then, a lot has changed in the program, as Vito continued to refine the interface.  Two things have remained constant, however: the unique hierarchical view, which allows you to quickly and easily organize tasks and sub-tasks; and the ability to share your lists with your team members.

Although the iPhone version of the program was released several months ago, Vito took some additional time to refine the Windows Mobile version, which they released earlier this week.  With this release, you can now access your Task2Gather account from any computer, iPhone/iPod Touch, or Windows Mobile device.  Watch for my review of all three versions coming soon in November.  And hit the jump to see the full press release.

Don Your Thinking Cap And Get Ready For Brain My Day From Pocket More Games

Are you sick and tired of all of those brain training games out there?  You know the ones that give you some puzzle to solve or numbers to crunch.  Do you even care which is the next shape in the pattern anymore?  Yeah…that’s what I thought.  And so did the folks at Pocket More Games.  That’s why when they made their new brain training game, they threw out the rule book.  Where most of the games in this genre focus more on the training, Brain My day focuses on the game aspects, with the belief that brain training games should be at least as entertaining as any other genre.  So, to meet this goal, when Pocket More Games designed Brain My Day, they threw out the static images, threw out abstract color balls, and created, “a realistic interactive world,” which you can use to train your brain.

Other features include:

28 games in total, plus building mode where you plant trees and build structures.
Tremendous amount of graphical content: over 100 locations

Unique NEW minigames, absolutely amazing and beautiful.
4 game modes - choose your gamestyle.
Little reading required - concentrate on playing, not studying.

Watch out, though, this game will require 20mb of memory to run.  Ouch.  Unfortunately, my Mogul does not have nearly enough memory to plan a review.  I’ll have to wait until I get a new phone to take a closer look at this one.

Brain My Day is available from Pocket More Games for $19.95

Review: Insaniquarium Deluxe: Here fishy, fishy, fishy…

Posted by: Heather on Aug 17 2008 - 108 views

Editor’s note: Astraware recently released Insaniquarium Deluxe. It’s a revamped version of an old classic, and it’s the only aquarium game I can think of where your fish-raising efforts take a backseat to fending off alien attacks. When Astraware approached us about doing a review, I had an idea. Since we have more writers and readers using a greater variety of devices than ever at JAMM, we could cover more than one version of the game.

But instead of writing separate reviews for the same game on Palm and Windows Mobile, why not set up a conversation between a user from each? Besides, hardly any two people play a game the same way, and I thought it would be fun to compare notes. Heather and her Palm Centro got on board with me and my Axim x51v, and we let loose. Heather’s comments are in black below, and mine are in blue.

Let us know how you like this kind of review. We sure had fun writing it!

Lauren: Why would killer creatures from outer space invade an aquarium? I mean, don’t they have anything better to do? What do the aliens have against the cute guppies, anyway?

Heather: I’m not sure why aliens need to kill little fish. They are innocent! Must be pretty boring in space.

Lauren: The aliens have got to be pretty tiny to fit into the tank. Hee!

Heather: I didn’t think about the alien size, that is true.

Lauren: That’s it! A size inferiority complex.

Heather: Must be. Plus, I also think they are mad that they don’t have any legs.

Lauren: Killer aquatic alien midget paraplegics.

Heather: I think Spielberg is working on that movie right now.

Lauren: So, what’d you think?

Heather: I’ve had a lot of fun….fish everywhere…collecting money and feeding them…and figuring out what kills them!

Get Your FaceBook On With Windows Mobile

Posted by: dgoldring on Jul 19 2008 - 166 views

facebook How many of you out there in JAMM-land are on Facebook?  Probably quite a few.  Heck, even JAMM is on FaceBook (and if you haven’t already, check us out, here).  I use FaceBook quite bit.  It is a fun way to keep up with some of my long lost friends.  Heck, using FaceBook, I have even found friends from my childhood, high school, college.  You name it.  The problem arises, however, when I try to access FaceBook from my mobile device.  That can be just plain painful.  It really does not offer the same kind of access as your desktop at all, which can be pretty frustrating.  Well, now two applications are offering to give you a much more enjoyable and useful FaceBook experience from your Windows Mobile device.  So, let’s take a look at FriendMobilizer and Snap2Face and see how each can enhance your FaceBook experience.

Review: SKTools 4

Posted by: Ragart on Jul 15 2008 - 518 views

JAMM SKTools 4

It’s always good to have a toolbox lying around. You might not use the thing all the time, but it’s indispensable whenever you need it. SK Tools 4 is much the same, featuring a very wide variety of system tools to tweak or repair most anything on your PDA. JAMM has already covered the previous version in a head-to-head review, but today we’ll take a look at SKTools 4 with a fresh pair of eyes.

Hit the jump and read more words! (It’ll be fun!)

edit 7/16/08 – I mistook my TyTN’s version of SKTools for the latest, but I was mistaken. I’ve since made edits to the Backup and FreeUp RAM! sections of the review to make it more accurate.
