Task2Gather Now On Windows Mobile
Posted by: dgoldring on Oct 30 2008 - 78 viewsI have been a fan of Vito’s new online task manager, Tas2Gather, for about 5 months or so; ever since they were kind enough to give me an advance look at the beta version. Since then, a lot has changed in the program, as Vito continued to refine the interface. Two things have remained constant, however: the unique hierarchical view, which allows you to quickly and easily organize tasks and sub-tasks; and the ability to share your lists with your team members.
Although the iPhone version of the program was released several months ago, Vito took some additional time to refine the Windows Mobile version, which they released earlier this week. With this release, you can now access your Task2Gather account from any computer, iPhone/iPod Touch, or Windows Mobile device. Watch for my review of all three versions coming soon in November. And hit the jump to see the full press release.

Update: SMS Chat from Vito
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Sep 08 2008 - 25 viewsLook the trend in finger friendly has been in the forefront of most Windows Mobile devs since the release of the iPhone, and Vito Technology have been at the forefront of that movement.
SMS-Chat v1.16 has the following new features:
> Call back option. Now users can immediatelly call back the sender of the text message.
> Option to save history for all chats in a text file. All chats can be saved to the folder My Documents\SMS-Chat.txt
> Hardware keyboard support. Users can type messages by using hardware keyboard.
> Full synchronization with default messaging application.
> Added Polish and Portuguese languages
The following bugs have been fixed:
> Loads much quicker
> Fixed input field in landscape mode on WM 6.1
> Error with opening links
> Optimized for 320×320 screens
> Some other minor bugs
They may seem minor, but the updates address major issues for users, and will be well met, I’m sure. For more information, or to download the upgrade, head over to http://iwindowsmobile.com/threaded-sms-messaging.html.

Vito Releases Task2Gather Web Application. Windows Mobile and iPhone Apps to Follow Soon
Posted by: dgoldring on Jul 30 2008 - 49 views
Several weeks ago, I wrote about the technology preview of a new web based task manager, Task2Gather, from Vito Technology/iWindows Mobile. Today, Vito has announced the official release of their new application, and it looks even better than what I saw in the technology preview.
Task2Gather is a Cloud based application, meaning that all of the information you input will be stored online, not on your computer. Unlike most web-based task managers, Task2Gather is not laid out with a traditional list of tasks. Instead, it utilizes a hierarchical, tree-based list of tasks. In other words, you will organize your tasks by project or category, meaning similar tasks will be grouped together.
Task2 Gather was designed around several guiding principles, including: simplicity, high performance, sharing, flexibility and mobility. The result is a completely unique task manager, which can be accessed from any computer, anywhere in the world.
Just head over to www.task2gather.com to sign up for your free account and get started today, or you can read the full press release first. Windows Mobile and iPhone users will be happy to know that mobile versions will be coming soon. Watch for a full review in this space soon.

Vito’s AstroNavigator II, Solar Eclipse Discount!
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Jul 29 2008 - 32 views
For all of you avid star gazers out there, or for all of you that are vaguely interested in astronomy, did you know that there is a total solar eclipse due on the First of August? You all know you shouldn’t look directly at a solar eclipse, it can damage your vision, unfortunately this great natural event can only be viewed in certain parts of the world.
The total Solar Eclipse takes place on the 1st of August 2008. It will be visible from a narrow corridor through northern Canada (Nunavut), northern part of Russia, western Mongolia, and China. You are far from those places but you still want to watch it? AstroNavigator II by VITO Technology gives you an opportunity to gaze at the Eclipse right on your PocketPC.
Vito are offering 30% off AstroNavigator II from the 29th of July to the 2nd of August, this means it’ll set you back $13.95 and you can download it here, not too shabby, so get in while you can and start searching the skies!

Review: Winterface
Posted by: dgoldring on Jul 10 2008 - 901 viewsFor roughly the past year, there has been a raging debate between iPhone users and Windows Mobile users about which platform is better. In my opinion, there are pros and cons of both, however, I have been extremely interested in watching the debate rage ever forward. The most fascinating offshoot to me is the way in which the mere presence of the iPhone has forced Windows Mobile and Windows Mobile developers to make drastic changes and improvements, almost overnight. I am convinced that without the iPhone, there would be no HTC Touch Pro, and the upcoming release of Windows Mobile 7 would be significantly different.
Similarly, without the iPhone, it is highly unlikely that the growing mobile shell genre would have taken off the way it did. Programs like Spb Mobile Shell, PointUI, and others, now completely replace the outdated and outmoded Today Screen interface with a finger-friendly interface which completely takes over your device, giving you access to all of your necessary applications and information. The latest offering in this rapidly rowing genre comes from Vito Technology’s iWindows Mobile line. Vito has done an amazing job of implementing the lessons of the iPhone with the other products in the iWindows Mobile line.
One of the things I like is that iWindows Mobile does not try to turn your Windows Mobile device into an iPhone. Instead, it takes the best features of the iPhone and employes them in crafting slim, sleek, easy to use, and finger friendly programs. Not only does their latest offering, Winterface, fit into this concept, it may just be the best one to come out of the iWindows Mobile studios to date. Hit the jump for a closer look at how Winterface will revolutionize your Windows Mobile interface.
