Astraware has just released its award winning Sudoku game for the Blackberry.  Plus, the game is now even better for the Palm OS.  It has been updated to include enhanced graphics, improved calculations, and hints for some of the more difficult puzzles.  Along with Palm and Blackberry, you can also purchase Sudoku for WM and the iPhone.  Astraware has packed this game full of features.  There is a Sudoku of the Day webserver that allows the user to download new puzzles at various difficulties every day.  No worries about ever running out of new challenges.  My favorite gaming extra is the fact that you can enter puzzles you come across in newspapers or magazines, and the game will help you solve them.  What a cool bonus!!!  Check out the press release after the break for all the details.

Like playing sudoku? I do, but I’m not really great at it, I’ve spent many a Saturday afternoon dithering over where to put the 9 or the 4. But one clever chap has come up with an application for the iPhone that allows you to take a picture of a sudoku puzzle and the app will solve it for you. Sure, it’s kind of cheating, but it’s an interesting concept and quite frankly it would make me look really good in front of my friends on a Saturday afternoon! It’s available in the iTunes App Store for just 99 cents.

I have been a fan of Sudoku ever since it began appearing locally in the Washington Post several years ago.  And in that time, I have tested, played, and reviewed virtually every Sudoku game available for Windows Mobile.  Through all of this testing, one of the best variations available has been the first Sudoku game I ever reviewed: Astraware Sudoku.

Now, Astraware is bringing all of the fantastic Sudoku gameplay to the iPhone, including the puzzle generator and Sudoku of the Day emails.  This is Astraware’s third foray into the iPhone market, as Sudoku joins GTS World Racing and Golden Skull.
