Well, I think this will bring our Relaunch Contest to an official close.  All of the prizes have been awarded, but we found ourselves sitting on seven unclaimed prizes.  So, we put those prizes back into the hopper, and seven lucky people will now join the ranks of JAMM Contest winners.

Those seven winners are:

  1. Niky – any program from Electric Pocket
  2. Jjuren  — SplashWallet
  3. HeatWave316 – SplashWallet
  4. Xoeskie – DDH HanDBase
  5. Oguine – any program from Vito’s iWindows Mobile line
  6. Ray – any program from Electric Pocket
  7. Botchan – any program from Vito’s iWindows Mobile line

Winners, congratulations.  Watch for an email from me soon with further instructions to claim your prizes.  Thanks to everyone who participated.  If you did not win, watch out.  Starting tomorrow, we are going to be firing up the old stoves and getting the JAMM contest machine back on track.  Just as in the past, we will have a myriad of prizes to give away every month.  Watch for your new contest coordinator, TJChan, for more information.  Finally, of course, a special thanks to all of the fantastic sponsors who assisted with all of the JAMM Relaunch contest.

JAMM Relaunch Contest: Day 2 Winners

Wow.  I am really impressed by some of the comments we have been getting in this contest.  Fantastic stuff.  And I do want you all to know that we absolutely listen to you.  We may not be able to implement everything, but we certainly consider every suggestions.  So far, based upon your suggestions, we have:

  • added gravatars to comments
  • made comments editable
  • made a new favicon
  • added shading behind the comments
  • and made a number of minor tweaks and adjustments

One of the biggest requests we heard was to kill the big banner on top (which I am actually starting to like).  And we did listen to you guys.  We tried to rearrange the top.  And our efforts resulted in a complete bust.  So, for now the ad will stay.  Keep those comments coming, though, we really do read and welcome every suggestion.  Remember, in order for them to count, you must post them on the contest announcement.

But enough about that.  You came here for one thing and one thing…to find out whether you won.  And, in true Ryan Seacrest fashion, I will announce the winners after the break.

Relaunch Contest. Winners, Day 1

Posted by: dgoldring on Jun 26 2008 - 153 views

Well, it is time to announce the first day’s winners.  Wow did you guys have some great opinions.  I do want to let you know that Brandon and I have been and will continue to explore all of your suggestions.  Some will be implemented down the road (some things are much more difficult than you would think), and others are already in process.  So, keep those opinions coming.  Just post them at the main contest article.

On to the winners.  As I mentioned, we have prizes lined up from some of the biggest Windows Mobile developers and accessory manufacturers around.  Today, I think, we’ll start with one of the favorites around here, SBSH.  Three winners will each get their choice of any SBSH product.

And the winners are:

Fireman54 (total coincidence, but happy birthday)

UzziahO

Iphitus

Didn’t win?  Don’t worry.  We have plenty more prizes to give out so, keep watching and commenting with your opinions.  Thanks to SBSH for donating to today’s prizes.  And thanks to everyone who entered so far.   Winners, congratulations and watch for an email coming soon with further instructions.

JAMM v. 2.0: The Relaunch!

Happy Birthday, JAMM!! Yup, on June 25, 2006 (exactly two years ago), Patrick Jordan kicked off this site with a late night look at what he why he just had to start his own site.  Now, just in time for our second birthday, we are rededicating and relaunching the site.  As you can see, we have a whole new look, and a whole new focus.

When I took over Just Another Mobile Monday earlier this month, I spent quite a bit of time thinking about what I wanted this site to be.  Until now, it had been a whole lot of Windows Mobile, with a smattering of other devices and operating systems.  That just did not seem like the right balance to me.  I mean, I know that is how the site got where it is, today.  Inimage But, as Patrick and I discussed on numerous occasions, the name of the site is Just Another Mobile Monday, not Just Another Windows Mobile Monday.  And so, I determined to make concerted effort to strike a better balance on the site between all of the mobile operating systems.   Sure, we will still cover Windows Mobile, but my hope is that before long, it will be just one of numerous operating systems you will find here.  Much to my surprise, much of the team here was just as excited as I was to expand the scope of the site.  Then again, Lauren has a Palm Centro and is eager to do more Palm software and hardware reviews; Thomas, Brandon, and Dan all have iPhones, so they will be bringing expanded coverage in that are.  But that still leaves Blackberry and Symbian, and we could really use some help in those area.  We are also actively seeking Blackberry and Symbian users to help further expand our coverage here on JAMM.
