Will The HTC Dream, Android Phone Materialise!
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Aug 21 2008 - 26 viewsI’ve been following the robotic evolution since it started, from afar of course, and the end of the genesis seems to be looming. A bit over a week ago, I put up a post that suggested the Android was imminent. Now I’m posting that the first coming of Android, may be a challenger to the second and third coming of the "JesusPhone".
What is surprising is that TMoWorld has some very detailed info on the launch of the first Android device. Well it’s not as much of a surprise as you would think as T-Mobile were one of the first to get in on the open handset alliance.
So now this seems like a reality, there will be an Android Phone mid September. Well a new mobile OS is going to throw the cat among the pidgeon’s, have Google done enough to ensure that there will be Apps to go with the phone? TMoWorld have a detailed, and I mean a detailed, post about the new device and release date and specs, if you want to try something new and are a T-Mobile customer, this could be your new phone!

Nokia, Maps and Rumours …
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Aug 20 2008 - 7 viewsThe Lonely Planet series of travel books have been top sellers for yonks, accessing them from a mobile device, not via an e-reader app, is a leap forward.
and BGR are showing off some images of what is supposed to be the new Nokia N 76,
Very nice looking candy bar,the N79. It’s faintly similar to the N82, and supposedly has a 2.4 inch QVGA screen, and a 5-megapixel camera beneath with flash. BGR suggests we may learn more on Monday, from Nokia itself.

iPhone Update, Version 2.0.2.
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Aug 19 2008 - 33 views
Not being an iPhone user, this update didn’t really mean much to me, until I started looking at the posts associated with the update. Hot on the heels of version 2.0.1, this point update from Apple fixes what? It seems to be a thing of bemusement and speculation. The update details seem to be
Bug Fixes
What the ? I saw this first over at Brighthand, and the description was
iPhone 2.0.2 is the second minor update released, and like its predecessor the only description given by Apple says is that it contains "Bug fixes". Exactly what bugs are being fixed isn’t revealed.
But when Wayne over at Gear Diary posted the news, oh well check out the response from Chris, anyone noticing anything different after the update?
Post it in the comments!

Android Now available for Pre – Order?
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Aug 12 2008 - 24 viewsMe I’m a bit of a skeptic, some would sarcastically spell that sceptic, but we have been assured by HTC that the Dream is coming, and coming soon. { this Quarter}
So I’m looking at this post at T –Mo news and I’m, well what am I ???
T-mobile customers can pick up the phone for $150. This is where it gets interesting, we’re not seeing any prices for new activations during the presale, so this could mean that only current T-mobile customers can pick up the G1 during the presale. Other customers interested in the G1 may have to wait until beginning/mid October before a national public launch. Many users have seen the recent video circulating the next claiming to be the HTC Dream (AKA G1), and have been complaining about the ugly white colour. Well we have good news for you too, as the G1 will be released in black, white, and brown. Being 3G enabled, the HTC manufactured G1 will unfortunately require its own data plan from T-mobile, which we expect to be more expensive then current data plans. Interestingly enough (maybe not so much knowing Google) users will be required to have a Google Gmail account for the phone to work. So far expected specs include 3G, a 5″ long by 3″ wide touch screen, and a slide out Qwerty keypad, and no mention of UMA or Wifi. We’re really excited for this all-too-secret device to hit T-mobile’s lineup. Stay tuned to TmoNews for more information coming soon!

Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta, Now available!
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Jul 17 2008 - 25 viewsEarlier in the year I had a look at the Opera 9.5 Beta, though it was not official, and I was excited, now I’m sounding like some late night telemarketer, but this is exciting. I’ve been waiting for the release of the real Beta of opera 9.5 for mobile and it’s downloading as I type this.
I am so looking forward to browsing with this tomorrow, but I wonder if Opera can establish a world record for downloads with this most anticipated Beta.
You can Download the Beta Here

iWindowsMobile Communication Suite gets a Winterface Lift!
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Jul 14 2008 - 58 views
Just got an email in from Konstantin over at Vito Technology, to let us all know that the iWindowsMobile Communication Suite is receiving a facelift, a Winterface lift.
iWindowsMobile Communication Suite now to Include Winterface
Special offer for SPB Mobile Shell users
July 14, 2008 - VITO Technology releases iWindowsMobile Communication Suite v 1.05. The Suite contains #1 finger-friendly contact manager FunContact, unique texting application SMS-Chat, zooming onscreen keyboard ZoomBoard, and now outstanding mobile shell Winterface instead of GoodWin! The price is $39.95, not $70 when purchasing separately.
It’s a great deal, you’ve got to admit that, I’m not sure I can give up my mobile shell though. Doug had a look at Winterface, and Thomas cracked open the suite, so you can judge for yourselves, is this for you?
