Most of you are probably familiar with Celio Corp. by now. They are the folks behind the Redfly Mobile Companion. You remember that, right? It looked like a laptop but had no operating system or apps inside. Instead, it was essentially an extension for your Windows Mobile phone. With it, you could project the contents of your phone onto the much larger (8 inch) screen, use the full QWERTY keyboard, and even charge the battery on your phone while you used it. It was a pretty cool device, with terrible timing. Right around the time Redfly started coming to the market as an ultra-portable laptop alternative, netbooks started making their big splash. Given the fact that you can but a netbook with a 10 inch screen for under $500, the Redfly Mobile companion seemed to have been squeezed right out of its own niche.
Well, you know what they say about successful companies: when faced with adversity, adapt to meet changing conditions. And that is exactly what Celio has done with their new Mobile Viewer. Hit the jump for all the details, and to find out how you can sign up for the new public beta.
