This is a joint contest between Just Another Mobile Monday and What’s on iPhone. In order to win, you will need to visit both sites.
For those of you who are not familiar, that is a Kakuro board you see above. Pay attention, because you are going to need it for this contest. Kakuro is from the same family is Sudoku, so some of the rules may sound familiar. The basic point of the game is to fill the grid with numbers 1-9, with no duplicates in any row or column. To do this, take a look at the numbers outside the grid. The numbers you place in each row or column must equal that number on the outside. Pretty simple really. The tough part is figuring out the correct combination of numbers for each row and column. The more boxes, the more possible combinations will be available to you.
So, what do you need to do to win? Take a look at the picture above. You can see one clue has been shaded in red (11 with 3 boxes.) All you need to do is write down all of the potential solutions for this clue. Then, head over to What’s on iPhone, where you will find a second clue. Write down all of the possible answers for that clue, and then send an email to admin@justanothermobilemonday.com, and include all of the possible solutions for both clues. You will get one entry for each correct solution you enter. But be careful, you will also loose an entry for any incorrect answers.
We’ll award at least 5 copies of Mastersoft Kakuro for iPhone. Though we do reserve the right to add more winners if we want to.
Contest ends at 10:00 PM (EST) on Saturday, May 9.
One of our good friends in the Windows Mobile community is Dom Masters, owner of Mastersoft Mobile Solutions. He has made some phenomenal mobile games, including one of the few good mobile versions of Kakuro. For some time, Mastersoft has talked about bringing their offerings over to the iPhone, and that transition is finally starting to happen. Although it is still in the very early Alpha stages, Mastersoft is hard at work bringing both Sudoku and Kakuro to the iPhone and iPod Touch. So…what does this have to do with you? Well, a game (or games) this big need to be thoroughly tested before anyone can be expected to shell out their hard earned money, and as Brandon hinted the other day, Mastersoft is actively seeking Beta testers. If you interested, just send your iPhone or iPod Touch UDID to betas [at] mastersoftmobilesolutions.com (don’t forget to replace the “at” with “@”.

Alright, let’s be honest. There’s not an application on the planet that can get you to stop smoking. I’ve tried them all – coach apps, hypnosis, you name it I’ve probably wasted money on it. I’m making it day to day simply by taking pills (Chantix) which even that didn’t really get me to stop – its something you just have to make the decision on. But, through all my trials and tribulations of trying to quit and stay quit there’s been one application thats always there – and that’s My Last Cigarette from Mastersoft.

Again reality is ONLY YOU can make the decision to stop smoking. MLC is there as my reminder – my reminder of the decision I made, the money I’m saving, how my health is improving and how many people have lost their lives to the addiction since I stopped. These are all powerful reminders and motivators. Sure – MLC doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles. It doesn’t need them. It does what it needs to do to keep you on the path to a better, cigarette free life.
A short while ago (without Dom even saying anything to us) My Last Cigarette was released for the iPhone. I bought it the minute I saw it. Here’s some really good news for the folks like me who love this app! From now until July 1st – Owners of MLC for Windows Mobile get MLC for FREE! If you don’t own MLC yet for WinMo – Check out MLC for the iPhone on iTunes
I’m not quite sure on the details of how to get your free copy (Dom didn’t mention it in his email), so I’ll make sure we get those details. Along with that Mastersoft is looking for beta testers for SuDoku and Kakuro and some other stuff, so for now I’m just going to recommend you stop by Mastersoft Mobile Solutions. I’m sure Dom will be around shortly to leave us some details in the comments.
