Link love: Bell’s HTC Touch Pro interface [pocketnow]
Posted by: Ragart on Dec 15 2008 - 55 viewsHere’s just a little interesting bit of link love. Pocketnow has a YouTube vid featuring the innovations that Bell has brought to the HTC Diamond. Surprisingly, they’ve replaced TouchFlo and have used their own brand of today screen justice. Overall, it looks alright. I’m a little disappointed that the “facebook” app is really just a gigantic link to Facebook, and the fact that you navigate the plugins like flicking the home screen of the iPhone can probably get a bit cumbersome with more than three plugins. BUT I do salute the attempt to be different and to really put effort into the attempt, so thanks Bell!

HTC Touch Pro…In The House
Posted by: dgoldring on Nov 06 2008 - 83 viewsLooks like Brandon is not the only one who got tricked with some treats in the mail today. I was very excited when I got home from work to find a FedEx envelope from HTC. Inside was the HTC Touch Pro, HTC’s new flagship device. I have been eagerly anticipating this one which is the replacement to the HTC Mogul I have been using for the last year.
But don’t just take it from me. Coincidentally, as luck would have it, both Lauren and Sue replaced their Palm Centros with the Touch Pro this week as well. So, you will be receiving opinions from all three of us on this device. Just sit back and get ready, because we have a lot of ground to cover…

Bad News Sprint Fans: Touch Pro Delayed
Posted by: dgoldring on Oct 17 2008 - 22 viewsBad news for you Sprint fans out there who have been waiting to upgrade to the HTC Touch Pro. It looks like you will have to wait a few extra weeks longer than expected for the much heralded replacement for the HTC Mogul. Instead of releasing the phone this weekend, as had been initially indicated, they have now announced that the Touch Pro will not be released until late October or early November. It’s only a few weeks, so be patient. it sounds like the delay is not performance related, but, “to ensure we have adequate inventory in all channels before making the device commercially available.”
Whenever it is released, the Touch Pro is expected to fetch a whopping $299 with a two year contract. To be honest, I was hoping that the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro would come in at a lower price point, something closer to the $199 Apple iPod 3G I keep hearing about over at rival AT&T.
