Thank You For Being Our Friends (Part II)
Posted by: dgoldring on Nov 08 2008 - 21 views
A few days ago, I had a chance to tell you about our fantastic sponsors, without whom much of this would not be possible. And while I am on that subject, a big welcome back to Spb Software House, who is rejoining us as a sponsor next week. They will be promoting the latest version of their annual Windows Mobile user survey. Make sure you check it out in order to have your voice heard.
Anyway, while I love all of our sponsors, and truly appreciate all that they allow us to do, they are not necessarily what makes this site run on a daily basis. That honor, my friends, goes to all of you, our readers, who have helped us edge ever closer to 3000 (yes, 3000) RSS subscribers and 1000 daily readers.

JAMM Sponsor Love
Posted by: dgoldring on Aug 04 2008 - 31 views
It is amazing to me that it is already August. Summer is starting to wind down, and the boys are shopping for school supplies. With everything else that is going on at this time of year, though, I wanted to make sure to thank all of our sponsors, many of whom are brand new to JAMM.
Our oldest sponsor is Spb Software House. They make some of the best software available for the Windows Mobile platform. They have a whopping five products (Phone Suite, Pocket Plus, Mobile Shell, Traveler, and Weather) on the 2008 JAMM Essentials and Best of the Best List.
Another old friend of the site is Iambic, the developers behind a wide array of software for almost every mobile platform. In addition to Windows Mobile, they develop applications for Symbian, Palm, Blackberry, and Windows desktop. We are all anxiously waiting to see what the iPhone/iPod Touch might bring for them as well.
Another frequent flier on the JAMM Essentials List is WebIS. Their Pocket Informant 8 and FlexMail 4 are some of the most popular Pocket PC programs. After using my iPod Touch for a few weeks, I am very excited to soon have the opportunity to check out Pocket Informant 8 for the iPod Touch/iPhone (the default PIM applications just do not cut it very well.)
Another old friend of the site is PPC Techs. In addition to offering repairs for dozens of mobile devices, PPC Techs makes some of the best mobile accessories I have ever used, including the Write Shield screen protectors, Lil Sync Duo Hands Free and Charging Adaptor, Mobile Power Pack, and the Penguin Charging Adaptor.
Our newest sponsor is Vito Technologies, who have just added two fantastic new programs to their iWindows Mobile line. First is the mobile shell program, Winterface; and more recently the online task tracking program, Task2Gather.
Of course, in addition to our sponsors, there are plenty of ways for you to show your support for JAMM. I have already mentioned the 2008 JAMM Essentials List. Check out what we felt were some of the best programs for Windows Mobile at the beginning of 2008. If you see anything you like there, then head on over to the JAMM store, where everything on the list is always 20% off (just use the code JAMM-ESSENTIAL.). And while you are perusing the JAMM store, be sure to check out our extensive selection of software and accessories for Windows Mobile, Palm, and Blackberry devices. Of course, one of the few accessories that you will not
find in the JAMM store are Invisible Shield cases. So, we have a special affiliate link for you to stock up any those cases for any number of devices.
If you just want to hang out and have some fun with us. Check out our JAMM Facebook page. Or, head on over to our CafePress merchandise store where you will find all manner of T-shirts, glassware, and other goodies, all bearing the JAMM logo. Now you too can show off your support for JAMM.
Thanks to all of our sponsors, and to all of our readers for your fantastic support of Just Another Mobile Monday. Without the support of our sponsors and the JAMM community, we would not be able to bring you many of the most popular reviews which you have found on the site. Our sponsors also provide numerous prizes which we use as giveaways and contests (along with a number of other developers). So, a big Thank You for all of your help to make JAMM such an enormous success.

Get Your FaceBook On With Windows Mobile
Posted by: dgoldring on Jul 19 2008 - 208 views
How many of you out there in JAMM-land are on Facebook? Probably quite a few. Heck, even JAMM is on FaceBook (and if you haven’t already, check us out, here). I use FaceBook quite bit. It is a fun way to keep up with some of my long lost friends. Heck, using FaceBook, I have even found friends from my childhood, high school, college. You name it. The problem arises, however, when I try to access FaceBook from my mobile device. That can be just plain painful. It really does not offer the same kind of access as your desktop at all, which can be pretty frustrating. Well, now two applications are offering to give you a much more enjoyable and useful FaceBook experience from your Windows Mobile device. So, let’s take a look at FriendMobilizer and Snap2Face and see how each can enhance your FaceBook experience.

Facebook Apps - Giving New (And Bad) Meaning To ‘I Got Facebooked’
Posted by: PatrickJ on Dec 24 2007 - 151 viewsYou’ve probably already read somewhere that Facebook has been added to the 2008 Collins English Dictionary - as both a noun and a verb! So if you say ‘I was up Facebooking until very late’ that’s proper usage - hurrah.
I have a feeling if they keep going the way they are though, Facebook may well find themselves being the butt of the proverbial ‘And if you look up ’spam’ your picture is next to it in the dictionary’ as well.
Facebook is undoubtedly a useful platform, and it has certainly helped me to reconnect with several long, lost friends - which is a great thing. But lately, when I think of Facebook, I really think of ‘Getting Facebooked’ in an entirely negative way.
