XXX, Experia, Here’s Johnny!

We all Are familiar with the crazed face of Jack Nicholson, poking through an axe shattered door, announcing himself. It seems Sony are using the same sort of imagery, some sort of rugged, (if not unbalanced character), to add some verve to the official product launch, of the highly anticipated Experia.
Looks like Sony are taking an alternative approach to their pre launch expose’ of the Experia, that’s slick, macho and well, slick…
It’s a little bit convoluted for me, and ethereal, I expected to see a device and I’m seeing “Johnny X” a fictional character that embodies the attributes of the Experia? or is this phone being marketed at a very different consumer base?
The preview can be viewed online here, by my time at the moment I’ve got about an hour to wait for this to be live, and I probably won’t hang around for it. Although there may be a current preview there is still no release date on the device so we all should take this as a teaser, and hope the device lives up to the demo/marketing hype.

Android… May not be sci-fi!
Posted by: Peter Murphy on Aug 05 2008 - 24 viewsWell we know the Android operating system is not science fiction, since we’ve seen it ported to many devices since the release of the SDK. Of course there are plenty of enterprising developers out there who’ll cook anything to run on any device. When though, will we get the real deal, Android specific handset?
Well it looks like HTC are on track to deliver in the fourth quarter of this year. In a post over at Digitimes, the CFO of HTC, Hui-ming Cheng, spilled some beans, even mentioning the Experia from Sony.
The Experia has been one of the most anticipated phones of this year, and looks like it’s online in the third quarter of 2008. Since the release of the Diamond and the Touch pro, everyone’s looking for WinMo devices to take on the fruit vendor’s offering, but the inclusion of a new OS on a high end HTC device should also add some excitement to the mix, don’t you think?
