XPPhone Mini Review At JKKMobile

image

After spotting the ITG xpPhone at Computex 2010, JKK at JKKMobile has had a chance to play with the definitive device for around 13 minutes.

The interest points raised are:

  • the screen is spring loaded and seems robust;
  • the keyboard size is a little large for thumb typing (should be good for average sized hands, though);
  • the touch screen is responsive;
  • as you could expect, the battery takes a big part of the device depth (this is very welcome as you don’t want this device to last only 2 hours);
  • the phone module can be changed (CDMA or GSM) easily;
  • the charger is as big as the device…

I am waiting to see a full review of the device in a day usage, in order to evaluate its battery life and the chosen platform (Windows XP Embedded) limitations. Visit JKKMobile to look at the video.

This is why I bought the Sprint Overdrive

When I bought the iPad earlier this year, I had a critical decision to make. Purchase the 3G version and pay $30 per month for AT&T’s network, or pay $60 per month for the Sprint Overdrive and it’s 3G/4G comparability. I opted for the more expensive option, purchasing the wifi version of the iPad and the Sprint Overdrive. Today, for the first time, I was able to get a 4G connection near my house for the first time (so much for the gradual roll out beginning in late June), and I think my decision is proving to be sound.

Apple Magic TrackPad Leaked Few Hours Before WWDC!

Wondering what the “One more thing” tormento will bring us? Maybe the night leaked Apple Magic TrackPad.

What’s that? Well, according to the leak source, it is a multitouch trackpad peripheral which will be presented today at the WWDC keynote by Steve Jobs.

The connection to your Mac will be via Bluetooth, as we are already used with Apple’s keyboards and mouses. The images, that could be easily pointed at as mockups, seem to be in line with what was already rumored this year, i.e. Apple was ready to release a:

Mentioned-Nowhere-Else-But-in-This-Very-Headline Multi-Touch Trackpad Gadget for Desktop Macs.

This was confirmed by both Daring Fireball and MacRumors earlier this year, and the new peripheral will seemingly bring iPhone OS gestures to the Mac desktop experience

Moreover, there is the claim of handwriting recognition support for the device.

You may now wonder: is this something that will completely make “keyboard+mouse” input obsolete in Apple’s mind? Be strong, only few hours for the answer!

Meanwhile, find below some of the leaked images. Visit Engadget for the full set.

The AF Lock Function also gives more experienced users the ability to manually control and fine tune the focus on a subject.

DXG-A85V-BackEquipped with an instant-on feature, DXG-A85V users will never miss another video perfect moment. While the 3-inch LCD touch screen provides convenient access to the menu as well as focus control by simply tapping the desired focus area.
