Review: Vaja Case for Wizard/Apache
Posted by: Steve on Jul 14 2006 - 2,487 views

Sony is a company that makes products which are sleek, good looking, and overall desirable. Apple is another company that follows along this same path, but alters one important section of their product appearance, the box. Nearly all of its products are displayed in ingeniously designed cases so that the user holds a feeling of richness when first opening an Apple product. When the Vaja case arrived I thought I was mistakenly shipped a product by Apple. The subtle attractive design of the box, coupled with the white color and slide out box, made the overall product feel ten times more expensive.

Core Processing in Mobile Devices?
Posted by: Steve on Jul 06 2006 - 452 viewsAn author over at Ars Technica posted an interesting article about how the Core Processor, currently utilized in UMPC’s and laptops, will soon become the "Core" component of mobile devices. He makes an interesting argument by stating how the Core processor, while it may consume more power, is much more compatible with x86 based applications. It is due to this inherent compatibility at the fundamental level that makes him ponder on the future of mobile processing.

Over the Air Archive. Personal Mobile Vault
Posted by: Steve on Jul 03 2006 - 799 views
1800Message.com has their new beta of Boopsie for their Personal Mobile Vault, a program that allows Over the Air archiving of
-SMS Messages
-Call History
-Contacts
-Pictures
-Voice Notes
-TagIt! List
A few days ago over at MobilityToday.com, David C. stated that his "Fedex guy didn’t like how he was being GPS Tracked everywhere he went." With this program, Personal Mobile Vault, companies are able to track nearly everything that their employees do with their mobile device. Not only that, Boopie, their newly released beta, allows you to search through your archives with your voice. An example is,
How many minutes have you spoken with John Pollack?
Think of how easy it would be to track employees, how simple it would be to search through archives, and best of all, I didn’t see a price so I’m assuming it’s completely free.
Poor FedEx guy…

Review: Otterbox 1900
Posted by: Steve on Jul 03 2006 - 1,963 views
As I have always said, there are three different types of cases; soft, hard, and the Otterbox. Soft cases being maybe leather cases or soft slip cases such as the OEM PSP case. Hard cases are the Rhinoskin or Boxwave Armorcases that offer a metal shell for your device. The final type of case is an Otterbox, a shell that anything short of a nuclear blast would not even scratch your device.

Mobile Webcasting with your PDA
Posted by: Steve on Jul 01 2006 - 461 views
ComVu holds a unique application for a few Smartphones and PDA’s that allows the user to broadcast video and audio live via their mobile device’s built in camera/mic. The ingenuity of the entire application is not on the Windows Mobile side; instead it is how they incorporated the web casting process with a fully automated server side solution. ComVu allows you to define how many users, the ability to charge the user, send invites to users that you can directly select from your contacts, and much much more. Not only does it automatically set everything up for you to stream video and sound live, ComVu also automatically records the stream to download or view at a later time. Having the ability to live stream and record in the corporate environment is a great asset to any business centric user. Although the program is currently limited to a few select PDA’s/Smartphones, corporations should look into such a solution for those quick occasions where they would greatly profit from being able to stream video/sound and save it automatically.
