Review: Proporta iPod 2G Aluminum Lined Leather Case
Posted by: Ragart on Nov 30 2008 - 61 viewsHot on the heels of the Thanksgiving sales comes JAMM’s (I’d say lightning, but that’s a Gizmodo trademark) review of yet another Proportan offering. Yes, I made the name into an adjective.
The 2G iPod Touch in my house was cold and alone after being purchased, but that all ended when Proporta kindly shipped me an aluminum (or aluminium) lined leather case from across “the pond”. The case has covered my device in leather and protected the screen with a sheet of aluminum. This review is the story of their relationship. So hit the jump to see how well this Cupertino computer got along with the enclosure from England (oh god, that was lame).

Proporta Thanksgiving sale!
Posted by: Ragart on Nov 25 2008 - 20 views
This one is short enough, so let’s skip the jump altogether. Proporta is offering a 15% sale on all of their Proporta-branded goods, and all you have to do is enter the coupon code TURKEY to receive the discount. Remember, the big bird will save you money. I’ve included the press release for the extra details that I didn’t write out, like the free smiley and the asterisk.
Celebrate Thanksgiving with Proporta
Proporta understand that Thanksgiving is a bit of a big deal across the pond, and would like to mark the occasion by offering our American pals and Canadian friends (although we appreciate we’re a few weeks late on the latter) a yummy 15% off all Proporta branded hardware.
Simply enter the promotion code TURKEY at the cart page to receive your discount*.
Happy Holidays.

*Please note that this promotion applies to orders placed to the US and Canada only, and is only valid on Proporta branded hardware products ordered on the 11/27/2008.

Update: Winterface 1.2
Posted by: Ragart on Nov 25 2008 - 166 viewsThere are a lot of players out there with their takes on how your “main” screen should look. Some of them do it as simple today plugins, but others go much further. Winterface is one of those players that tries to take the WM touch interface to the next level. This newest update adds a fair bit of new content, chief among the new features being a today screen plugin. I’m not sure how this will work out, as I no longer use a WM device, but we did review Winterface when it first came out if you’d like to know more about it.
I’m not going to go overboard an an iPhone interface comparison here, but another one of the new features is adding favourite websites as shortcuts. That’s pretty neat!
In any case, jump for the full release and all of the features and bug fixes (and there are enough changes to make it worth reading).

StationBreak: Regina Spektor
Posted by: Ragart on Nov 22 2008 - 38 views[Oh, look – it’s StationBreak time again! But on a Saturday?! WHY?! Why am I late?!]
Ok, there are two easy ways to make me like you: first, have a cool name. Second, appear on Conan O’Brien’s Late Show and rock as his musical guest. Regina Spektor fulfills both requisites, and you know what? I like her.

Review: Soul Trapper
Posted by: Ragart on Nov 15 2008 - 39 viewsAlright, so this review took me longer than it should have. You really shouldn’t experiment with multiple machine syncing when you’re reviewing what is essentially an RPG. I was about a quarter through the game and I ended up destroying my save file by syncing all my applications all over again. Ugh!
In any case, I’m back on track now and ready to give you fine folk the heads-up on Soul Trapper for the iPhone. This one’s pretty different from any other title we’ve seen on the App Store, as it’s a fully voice-driven adventure with very little graphical input. But is it any fun? Or is it more of an interactive audio book?
Find out after the jump!
