So long story short, I’m one of those unlucky folks who owns an iPhone 3G and wasn’t eligible for the subsidized pricing from AT&T. I bought mine on 3G Day last July just like all the fanboys and re-upped my contract like a good customer. I owned the first iPhone and prior to that I owned a bunch of other devices. I guess I just don’t pay AT&T enough a month to qualify or something… but at the end of the day I was one of the folks who couldn’t get the 3G S at a decent price until next March (yes 2010). Well, I thought long and hard about it, and I wasn’t going to upgrade until I like a dumbass stopped into the Apple store today to pick up a mini-to-VGA adapter for my Macbook.
So, after playing with the 3G S and feeling the improved speed of bouncing between apps – it became obvious that this was going to be a worthy upgrade. Keep in mind I live on my iPhone. Not on the ‘phone’ … but on the ‘i’ part of iPhone. I’m always on the web, twitter, games, notes, email, etc… so the speed increase is a big deal. So, the next thing I ended up doing was going to AT&T to wear my bleeding heart on my sleeve to see what they could do for me…
Before we begin, let’s review some of my personal beliefs. I think that by stating my thoughts about myself immediately you’re going to find a lot more value in this review. The older I get the more I find myself becoming a bit of a minimalist. When I was younger I could care less if there was stuff all over the place. Now I find myself in my home “office” and I look around at the room I designed and find it very low key. Strong earth tones and very little in the way of clutter. Heck my desk only has my Macbook and my HP Mini on it. That’s typically all there is. When it comes to my iPhone, I prefer the “nearly naked” version of cases… in other words I use InvisibleSHIELD, BodyGuardz or Best Skins Ever. I will use an Otterbox when the situation requires it, but 95% of the time my iPhone is skinned only. So, with this minimalistic approach to things in mind, let’s get down to looking at the Domeskin.

So, many of you are not going to recognize the name or the logo in this post, and that’s ok because we never really mentioned them before. But I’ll bet you remember we gave away a brand new Pantech Matrix Pro not too long ago right? Well, our friends at Buzz Corps were the driving force behind that promotion along with quite a few other big ones (Like that huge HP giveaway not too long ago on Gear Diary). Well, cutting to the chase they are changing names and focus.
Buzz Corps is changing its name to Ivy Worldwide
So, now you’re all excited because some company you didn’t know you knew about is changing its name. Sure, I can understand that excitement! Naturally you’re bound to be a bit more excited when you find out they’re hosting a huge contest with the following prizes:
What do you have to do to win? With a new name must come a new logo and they want YOU to design it! If you think you’ve got the chops (or Photoshops) then hit up THIS LINK and read all the details. I know we’ve got some really talented graphics folks who read the site so make sure you take a couple minutes and check out the contest. I’d love to see one of our readers take home the grand prize!

Hey everybody – I’ve been wanting to get this review out for quite a while now, and it seems like there just isn’t going to be time to really do the game justice in my review schedule for a long time, so rather than do some big drawn out affair I figured I’d give you some links, so thoughts and just go it from there. The best part is there’s a free “lite” version of Magnificent Gizmos & Gadgets out now in the app store(iTunes) which should give you a really good idea if the game is going to be one you can get into.
First things first – MG&G is not a game for me. It’s a great game to be sure, but I’ve come to find that this sort of brain puzzle sort of thing just doesn’t work for me, and it’s not for lack of challenge or the ability for my mind to comprehend a challenge… I’ve just come to find that I don’t tend to solve problems the same way that a lot of people do, and I’m a bit too far out of the box for the games to deal with. The other thing I’ve come to find is that a concept I have in my mind which in perfectly normal circumstances would work, tend not to work due to some limitation with the physics of the game. For example, there’s a level in the game where you have to go over some hill and down the other side. Seemingly a simple task took me forever because the tools in the game are too based in the game physics that they don’t respond how a normal item would in the same situation. In this example things kept folding over and landing on each other and then staying there. Well, little rotating wheels sitting one on top of another aren’t going to stay that way for long. You and I know this, but the game (while seemingly aware of the concept) didn’t have these wheels go shooting off in separate directions.
I think the image pretty much says it all. This kind of deal doesn’t come along every day so I highly recommend if you’ve considered an invisibleSHIELD – NOW IS THE TIME!
I’ve recommended invisibleSHIELD to tons of people, I swear by them … and believe you me I’ll be heading there and picking up some much needed protection for sure.
