download

The JAMM Deal of the Day has not been a consistent thing.  Sometimes there are no deals as we strive to provide something of tremendous value that we ourselves would use (and that day didn’t provide any such opportunity).  Sometimes there may be one Deal of the Day.  But as for today, we hit 2 for the day as SmrtGuard, a BlackBerry annual service normally sold for $44.99 is going for the rock bottom price of $22.50 – which is a WHOMPING 50% off.  With this ‘lowjack’ for your BlackBerry, you’ll be able to track it on a map, remotely wipe the information, and more!

If this sounds like your type of thing, check out SmrtGuard in the JAMM store.  It’s sure to provide you with a greater level of security.  The security of data these days can and many a time will outweigh the cost of the device.

PlayOn Makes Hulu, Netflix, and More on the iPhone / iPod Touch

PlayOn is one of the most innovative products, in my opinion.  Previously I purchased a lifetime license for basic.  And recently I upgraded that lifetime license to a premium lifetime (available only to previous subscribers which you can get for $80 now).  One of my main decisions to upgrade was the ability to get a slew of new channels like Comedy Central, CBS.com, ESPN.com, and more.  But the key deciding factor for me was the ability (or at the time the promise) to be able to stream to my iPod Touch.  Granted, the new PlayOn version 3 has been out for almost a month – but my PlayOn not set to automatically update.  This caused me to miss the launch of this great new feature.  Trying it out today, I was impressed.  Everything I currently stream from PlayOn to my XBox 360 can now be watched on my iPod.  This equates to savings galore as I don’t need to purchase an XBox Live Subscription for NetFlix or the Hulu Plus to be able to view Hulu.  With Hulu, things can go boom at anytime…but with the ability to stream my NetFlix subscription, I feel that it is worth the price of the subscription fee.

Current fees are $40 for the first year with $20 for subsequent years unless you buy the lifetime subscription.  This program works not just for iPods and XBox 360s, but also for PS3 and Wiis.  A 14-Day trial is available.  Here’s to entertainment on demand where I can watch what I want, when I want, and how many I want.  I’m no longer at the mercy of a cable company providing I am content with the programming content on the various online services.
