Question of the Day: WM7 OS Requirements

With the release of Blackberry 6 this week, it started me thinking about Windows Mobile 7, which is due out later this year.  Blackberry 6 didn’t have any revolutionary features that would pull people away from the iPhone or Android.  I was wondering, what does WM7 have to do to make a real impact in the mobile market?  If it could make my phone transform into a robot that would clean my bathroom, I would get one in a second.  However, short of that, I am not sure that I could be pulled away from Android.  I really am lovin’ my HTC Incredible!

What would make you want to switch to WM7?

I am quite simply bored with my iPhone, just as by the time I got my iPhone I was bored with my BlackBerrry before I got the iPhone. I had every iPhone model including the original, but chose not to upgrade to iphone 4.0. I have been looking at Andriod phones, and been thinking about waiting for WinMo to be reborn. I would like to see something refreshingly new. Yet again Windows Phone 7 may fall short of that mark, and Andriod may be the decidedly better option.

Of course, most people are not like us, and currently don’t have smartphones. Microsoft certainly hopes to offer a compelling feature set not to cause people to switch, but for people who currently do not have a smart phone to choose Microsoft when they choose to get their smart phone.
