Apple iPad Risks To Be The Fastest Selling Mobile Device Ever

We all know Apple iPads are selling like hot cakes, but I couldn’t imagine the iPad was on its path to the Guinness Record.

Extrapolating from the current selling rate, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty says the Apple device could be the fastest selling mobile device in history. According to the following graph, after 2 years on the market the iPad could be only below netbooks in a “base scenario”, while it could go even over netbooks in a “bull scenario”.

Here is the Business Insider article:

When the iPad first hit the market, we asked “How will the iPad sell compared to other mobile gadgets?” We now have our answer.

After less than 80 days on the market, Apple has sold 3 million iPads and according to Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty, it’s on track to be the fastest selling mobile device in history.

Assuming an average selling price of $650 per iPad, Apple just generated $2 billion in sales. That’s better than iPod sales from the March quarter, which according to Morgan Stanley’s Katy Huberty only totaled $1.5 billion.

Now I understand what Steve means when he talk about a “magical device”…

Question of the Day: What is the value in Facebook?

Question of the Day:  What is the value in Facebook?

I’m neither for nor against Facebook.  Rather, I am ignorant in regards to the value of Facebook.  By definition, ignorance is not bad… I just simply don’t know why I should or should not use Facebook as a service.

So, let’s hear it… what is your perceived value of Facebook?  Why would I want to use it?  Hit the comments and share your thoughts.
