The final week of the JAMM Store / Mobihand Blackberry Theme Throwdown is here. With it we find the themes of designer HedoneDesign available for 50% off their regular price. The premise of the contest is pretty simple: the designer with the most themes. Be sure to check them out here!
SBSH Software has been busily porting many of their Windows Mobile applications to other platforms. We’ve seen GoNews Touch for Android, PocketWeather for iPhone and now PhoneWeaver for Android. PhoneWeaver first appeared as a Windows Mobile profile management tool, allowing for context based handling of communications means.
Amit and crew at SBSH are busy working on finishing up PhoneWeaver for Android and are planning a release on Monday, June 28. We don’t have a lot of details right now, but rest assured we’ll share them with you as soon as we do!
UPDATED
Boy Genius Report is reporting that FroyYo OTA updates have started hitting Nexus One phones as of today. According to the Google Blog post they are citing on the issue, everyone with a Nexus One should have an update message on their phone by the end of the week. If you have an unlocked, Nexus One, look for the update on your device and let us know how the update goes.
As a quick aside, I don’t see any mention of whether this is hitting just T-Mo or both T-Mo and AT&T based Nexus Ones, so keep your peepers peeled. AT&T N1 users, please let us know if you see an official update to FroYo.
I don’t know if the OTA version that is officially coming from Google will be FRF83 or FRF85B, however, I’ll have a post up of the update process, complete with pictures so that everyone can see what the process looks like before they take the plunge themselves.
Updated Baked ROM
Paul from MoDaCo also released a new custom baked ROM this morning, based on FroYo FRF85B. If you have an unlocked and rooted Nexus One, Paul’s got some really GREAT ROM’s on his site and they are well worth the time and effort to install.
(I’m trying to pull together a complete IDIOT’S guide to unlocking and rooting your Nexus One, but getting the information in a n00bie digestible form is proving a challenge. Stay tuned…)
==========================================================
I’m a MoDaCo Plus member. As such, I’m privy to a couple of cool options from Paul’s site, but more importantly, it means that I frequent his forums. When giving them a quick little glance between conference calls this morning, I saw the following thread:
Initially, I thought another beta release of FroYo had hit, but was surprised to see the following when I opened the thread:
FRF83, the ‘official OTA’of Froyo has hit the airwaves, so i’ve repacked it for my own purposes in various forms, and also uploaded for anyone who wants them.
I need to do a check for updates to see if the OS is available for me yet. When I get the update, I’ll hold off installing and will have pics and shots of the update process for everyone. If you already have updated your Nexus One or other device with the OFFICIAL FRF83 release, please post a comment, below and let us know how the update process went and how you like the new version of Android!

In my mail today I found some good news from Verizon: the new “Droid Does” will be available July 15.
To qualify for the new Droid you will have to give $199.99 and subscribe a new 2 years activation on voice plan and a data pack for $29.99 (minimum).
The specs and features of the Droid X are impressive, as you can see from the Verizon “Droid Does” site.
While the camera and video will be for sure a strong selling point for the device, for me the most interesting ones are the Wi-Fi hotspot and the HDMI out, so that I could try to replace my laptop using this guy paired to a BT keyboard and mouse.
However, may I ask for a similar specs device with a physical keyboard?
