Nokia N-Series Salutes You, Symbian (And Welcomes MeeGo)
The last Nokia N8 has not yet arrived on the world shelves, and it has been already declared dead.
Yesterday Nokia announced that its N-Series will stop using the Symbian operative system, and will move to MeeGo, with the N8 being the last N-Series device with Symbian onboard.
Nokia will continue loading is historical OS on lower end devices, but its bet for the future is MeeGo, the OS born from the ashes of Nokia’s Maemo (lately seen on the N900) and Intel’s Moblin.
This was expected to happen, and somehow it is happening a little later than expected, and the brand new high-end N8 will pay for everyone.

For those of you still interested in the Nokia N8, C|Net Australia as an in depth your of the device.
I like Nokia’s smartphones design but I have never liked its OS. I hope this choice will pay Nokia in the future, and that MeeGo will prove to be a capable Linux based mobile OS alternative.
