Enjoy FREE WiFi with Your Coffee at Starbucks

Starbucks is the land of caffeine and snack happiness.  I do love their baked goods, as well as their Strawberry & Creme frappucinos…yummy.  It is true, I don’t like coffee.  However, my other half more than makes up for my lack of coffee indulgence.  Now there is one more thing to love about Starbucks, FREE WiFi!!!  Starbucks has had WiFi access for awhile via AT&T, but only the first 2 hours were free  if you signed up for an account.  Starting July 1, this changes to just FREE.

Starbucks is also working on the ‘Starbucks Digital Network’ with help from Yahoo.  They want to be able to offer their customers free access to subscription sites like the Wall Street Journal as well as other free exclusive content.

I believe the plan is that the longer you stay at Starbucks, the more coffee you’ll drink and the more food you’ll eat.  A little bit of free internet in exchange for increased sales is not too big of a price to pay.  I see this being an even bigger hub for college students.  Now they just need 24 hour on campus stores.
