Question of the Day: Do you use free wifi?
Yesterday Doug floated around a topic about different public locations and stores having free wifi. When I first started using a wifi enabled device (Palm TX) finding a location that had free wifi was music to my ears, mostly because I had no other way to connect to the internet while traveling and there were few where I lived.
I remember going to the home of the golden arches, because I remembered seeing a sign on their door about wifi. I fired up the TX, turned on wifi, tried to connect to the internet and was disappointed that one had to pay.
That was about 4 or 5 years ago. As we slowly fast forward, there have been numerous places that started to make their wifi service free. It’s a loss leader, much like giving away free or very cheap coffee. If one can come in for free wifi odds are that they will take advantage of the other available services – the pay ones.
Do you use free wifi? Do you get excited when you find a restaurant or store that has made theirs free to you? Leave your comments below.
To many of you, it may be nothing more than one of the top movies this week. Before it was a top grossing movie, however, Prince of Persia was a computer game. And a darn fine one. It was really one of those games which was well ahead of its time, offering a level of action which had not been seen in a computer game until then. Since that time, of course, the action/adventure genre has moved pretty far and pretty fast since that time, including things like 3D accelerated graphics, and some extremely advanced storylines. In a lot of ways, though, none of these games truly measured up to what Prince of Persia offered for its time. don’t believe me? Check out the original game – with all its original styling and graphics – without leaving the comfort of your iPad or iPhone. The original Prince of Persia game is now available as a universal app for only $0.99. Wondering what the movie is really all about? Check it out in the iTunes App Store.
