Backflip Studios Releasing Strike Knight, Four More Coming Soon

I just got an email today from my friend Julian, the owner and CEO of Backflip Studios.  I got to be friendly with Julian because he was the developer of some of my absolute favorite iPhone games, including Paper Toss, Harbor Havoc, and Ragdoll Blaster 2.   I had been anxiously waiting to learn what Backflip might be up to next.  Today, we learned the answer.  They have five games coming out over the summer.  Here are the details:

a)  STRIKE KNIGHT (May 17th launch) – It’s a puck (or flash) bowling game based on the arcade games found in many dive bars during the late eighties and early nineties.  It’s fun and addicting and more about timing your flick than actual bowling.  Here is a gameplay video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeBtVtS_6H4

b)  GRAFFITI BALL (early June launch) – this is a simple physics based game where you route a ball to a target, and other bonuses, using a spray paint can and gravity.  I think we showed you early art for this one at GDC.

c)  NINJUMP (late June launch) – You are a ninja being pursued by other angry ninjas up the side of two buildings.  Timing the simple jumping mechanic between buildings is the key to success.  Your goal is to stay alive, climb high, avoid objects and pick up bonuses along the way.  Great pace, music/sounds and graphics.

d) PAPER TOSS HD (mid June launch) – iPad specific version of the original with a few added features.  PT has been downloaded more that 20,000,000 times for the iPhone/iPod touch, we are excited to bring this to the iPad.

e)  HARBOR HAVOC 3D FREE (late May launch) – we are re-releasing our action packed and well reviewed routing game as a free game.

This all sounds fantastic to me.  The best part is, they are all FREE!! I have already set my iPad for download…bring on Paper Toss HD!
