QOTD: Has your mobile device turned you into a digital photographer?

Question of the Day:  Has your mobile device turned you into a digital photographer?

I’m going to make an assumption here:  Just about every mobile phone in the world that is relatively modern has a digital camera built in.  Some of these are pretty decent in quality.  My HTC Touch Pro has a 3 MP camera that does a decent job.  It includes a LED flash, focus capabilities and a few basic options for manipulating the images as they are captured.

I’m going to make another assumption here:  The amount of people carrying mobile phones has skyrocketed in the last 5 years.  We could then speculate that a significant percent of the world’s population, that is the cell phone carrying population, anyways, has a digital camera with them at all times.

As a result of this, has the integration of digital cameras into cell phones spawned a new generation of photographers, able to capture candids quickly and in more situations that ever before?  Are we now able to document the world as we live in it, photographing the serene, the inspiring, the gritty, the horrible?

Has your mobile device turned you into a digital photographer, an Ansel Adams in training that is documenting aspects of the world and your day as never before?  Hit the comments below and let us know your thoughts!
