Google Has Gone The Way of AT&T – Blames Service Issues on Location

A little under a year ago my marriage to AT&T ended in divorce.  Their cell phone service was, and I suspect still is, pathetic.  During repeated attempts (read: bang head on wall) to research the issue online and with customer service reps, a common thread started to occur:  to increase the quality of phone signal strength, move yourself and the phone.  In other words, you could almost rephrase that into:  we’re not coming to you so you had better come to us.

Earlier this week, we find Google doing the same thing to Nexus One owners, thanks to a revealing post on their forums.  A customer service rep has gone on record as stating that Google is no longer investigating a problem with the Nexus One and 3G signal quality.  Their final solution?

You guessed it:  MOVE to a different location and try again.

Disappointment is about the only thing that comes to mind regarding this.  Google may have gone the way of telecom giant AT&T with ditching their customers for dollars.  What are your thoughts?  Hit the comments and let us know.

QOTD: Is Dell Back?

The Dell Axim was a powerhouse Windows Mobile handheld that was sorely missed by some upon their exit of the market.  After a long period of anticipation, Dell has announced the Lightning, a Windows Phone 7 device as well as some different Android devices including the Smoke, a forward facing QWERTY candy bar style phone.  With these announcements, there is no doubt that dell has re-entered the smartphone market, but is Dell BACK?

Dell Lightning: Windows Phone 7 device leaks

I am not sure where Dell is coming from all of the sudden but this device looks like a force to be reckoned with.  I’m not sure that “The Ultimate” is the correct description for an OS that hasn’t even been released yet, but I must say I am liking what Dell is stepping it up with.

These specs are awesome but I could go for a bit more memory.  And the MicroSD slot that is most likely will not be accessible makes me wonder how inaccessible it will be?

I have been skeptical since the announcement of Windows Phone but these pics and specs look too good so far.

What are your thoughts on the specs?  Is this a good start to a successful device?
