Verizon No Longer Getting the Nexus One

Attention Verizon users who have been drooling over the Nexus One, anticipating it’s arrival on your network.  Roll up the tongues, wipe the corners of your mouth.  It’s not coming.  According to Google, you will want to check out HTC’s Droid Incredible, now available for preorder and available in stores April 29th.

What’s to be taken from this?  I for one am not sure, as I never really understood the business model behind the Nexus One.  Google was themselves selling the phone, via the service provider.  Isn’t that kind of how it works for every other company in the cell phone game, anyways?!  Maybe this means that while we can classify Android a success, the Nexus One would fall into the flop category?  Perhaps your thoughts on Google’s business model are more clear than mine.  Hit the comments and enlighten me.

I am covering this to an extent in my review. I don’t think the Nexus One is a flop. Google hasn’t put any of its marketing machine behind the device. Technically, functionally, its awesome. I think Google needs to rethink how it wants the gPhone to impact the Android market and then either spend the money or not. (obviously, i am hoping the former and not the latter…)
