PiZero Creates Another Mobile Masterpiece

It has been a couple of months since I last used a Symbian device. One of my favorite things about Symbian was the level of flexibility and customization the platform offered. There were many beautiful themes available for Symbian that I used. Some of my favorites came from PiZero. There were a variety of options from simple to complex, but elegant.

Well, PiZero has released his new masterpiece to the Ovi Store (Nokia’s app store), called Earth.

Check out some of the screenshots and visit the Ovi Store to download this beautiful theme.

iPhone Apps Not Just Making Developers and Apple Richer, $ome Reviewers Want In On It Too!

With Wired.com reporting on how some sites are charging for reviews of iPhone Apps, it looks like a good time to remind each of you that JAMM has never participated in this practice.  We strive to always fully disclose if the app was one we have purchased on our own dime, or one that a developer sent to us for free.  We don’t make any money off JAMM… it’s a labor of love for each of us.  Finally, I want to let each of you know that JAMM adheres to OATS.

Android 2.1 Likely Coming to Sprint, Maybe in April…or Something Like That

[UPDATE: The folks over at Androinica are now reporting that these updates could be released as soon as March 26, which is coming up fast, so stay tuned and we will see if the combination of Sprint, HTC, and Samsung can get this thing pushed out to all of you in the coming days or weeks.]

Yup, you heard it here first…or maybe second or third.  The long awaited Android 2.1 update for Sprint phones is scheduled to be released through an over the air upgrade, “in the coming weeks” with, “more information coming in April.”  Some sites have interpreted this as meaning that Sprint will be issuing the upgrade in April.  Here at JAMM, we are far more cynical.  Frankly, I have been burned by Sprint’s broken upgrade promises all too often.  Sure, the upgrades have always arrived…eventually.  So, all I can say at this point is that Sprint is apparently planning to upgrade both the HTC Hero and Samsung Moment to Android 2.1, an upgrade which I am anxiously awaiting.  Whether this upgrade will land in the coming weeks, or even sometime in April…well, I suppose I will believe it when I see it.

Just to show you that Sprint is not always full of hot air, though.  They did just release a Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade for the HTC Touch Pro 2.  You can find that upgrade on HTC’s support site.
