So, PushLife is a music player allowing your BlackBerry to sync your mobile music library with iTunes. Moreover, also artist’s biography, songs lyrics and photos will be kept in sync. More information can be found on the PushLife FAQ page.

Even if this seems to be only Windows compatible, at 9.99 $ PushLife is a good way to enhance the BlackBerry media capabilities with iTunes.

At least, until Apple doesn’t change the rules…

Let me introduce you to Android on the Acer Aspire One D250

While waiting for the Windows 7 release, Acer has managed to put Android on its Aspire One D250.

The netbook can be pre-ordered from Amazon.com right now for $349.99. It sports a set of standard specifications, except for the dual boot configuration, allowing you to choose between Windows XP and Android:

  • 1.66GHz Intel N280 Atom Processor
  • 1024MB DDR2 SDRAM Single Channel Memory
  • 160GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM), 802.11b/g Wireless
  • 10.1″ WSVGA Acer CrystalBrite LED Display, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
  • Dual Boot Operating Systems: Android or Windows XP Home, 6-cell Li-ion Battery (5800 mAh)

The dual boot seems a clever choice from Acer, both to give Android a chance on netbooks and to allow people to use their Windows applications.

I have been tempted to buy an Android smartphone many times.  However, I have always been stopped by the lamented lack of applications. Maybe this Android netbook is only a “dead on arrival” experiment, but in certain cases I could imagine myself jumping on the Android ecosystem:

  • give me the applications
  • allow for a really good integration between Android netbooks and smartphones
  • an affordable cloud service

and I will buy the full package.

For now, I will patiently wait for Chrome OS to come…

Refining an Experience: Why Doesn’t Windows Mobile Meet Your Needs?

Reading a recent article at CoolSmartPhone that comments on how few changes have been made to the Windows Mobile OS since the 2003 SE release, I’ve got to ask:  What is the problem that so many people seem to have with Windows Mobile?  Their writeup notes that there have been a number of dissatisfied users of the latest incarnation of the OS, version 6.5.  They also note that with stripping away much of the UI enhancements added by third party manufactures, the actual OS hasn’t changed much.  Is the latter true?  Perhaps.  Dissatisfied with 6.5:  why?

So here’s my next question, …. what more do you want?  In currently using a Windows Mobile 6.1 HTC Touch Pro I can’t find any real faults with the operating system.  I’ve got a device that runs a stable, base OS that allows itself to be customized via registry tweaks and third party software solutions.  I’ve got a phone, a wifi and bluetooth device, a GPS navigation system, a digital camera, a touch screen with outstanding resolution, and on and on.  It’s a great little device.  Is the OS perfect?  No.  There is no such thing.  Is it robust and very mature?  Sure.  How does it compare to other mobile OS’?  As a person who has used a device running almost every major platform, I’d say it stacks up VERY well.

What are your thoughts on this?  Are you willing to check into Windows Mobile 6.5?  Are you jumping ship to another platform?  Let us know in the comments section below.
