Watch this: the inPulse Allerta smartphone companion
You have an all new Uberphone and you can’t check your mail just because you are in the middle of that boring meeting? Don’t worry, the inPulse watch comes to the rescue.
This is not a standalone gadget, as the LG GD9120 is. Rather, is a smartphone companion, allowing you to be, you know, more productive.
Made by a company called Allerta (sounds as "Alarm", at least in Italian), the inPulse watch pairs to your smartphone through Bluetooth and shows you your calls, appointments, emails, etc. just with a quick look at its screen.

This device, which is still a rendering in the image above, is reported to have a "big, bright and beautiful" OLED screen, long battery life and will allow you to check the notifications and messages coming from your smartphone. It is still not clear which platform the device will be able to interact with, however BlackBerry, Symbian and Android are the names made.
While I can imagine the usefulness of this watch in certain circumstances, I don’t think I am going to drop my automatic watch for it, for two simple reasons:
-
mine really looks better;
-
handcuffs are bad, and I would feel like a prisoner with this.
