Barnes and Noble Announces the Book Nook

If you would like to read a Book

Then, I think, you should get a Nook

With the Book Nook, you can read HERE

Or you can read THERE

You can read most ANYWHERE

with apologies to Dr. Seuss, the long awaited Barnes and Noble ebook reader, The Nook, was finally announced tonight.  This is the one which is supposed to knock the Amazon Kindle off its pedestal.  We’ll see how that competition unfolds, but this one does look pretty impressive.  In addition to the full Barnes and Noble ebook store, you will find:

  • an easy to read e-ink screen
  • Connect to the online store directly from the Nook via AT&T or Wi-Fi (including the free Wi-Fi connection found in every Barnes and Noble store)
  • 2 GB of storage space
  • Sample books for free
  • Bookmarks, notes, dictionary, and other reading tools included
  • Lend books to your Nook using friends for 14 days at a time
  • Full color touchscreen allows easy browsing and navigation
  • Exclusive content in Barnes and Noble stores

It sounds to me like Amazon’s Kindle is going to have a fight on its hands.  The Nook is available for preorder for $259 from Barnes and Noble.
