There’s a new MSI Wind in town, and it’s bringing the battery life!

Wind-U110

The Wind that I bought, the U100, was probably the first in the series of MSI netbooks (as far as I know). MSI has since gone onto playing with other sizes (12″) and playing with the successful U100 formula (I’ve found MSIwind.net to be a decent info source). The U100 that I owned was pretty great in terms of battery life with its 6-cell battery, but I think the U110 is pretty newsworthy with its reported 15 hours of battery life. Doug’s Wind U100 originally came with a 3-cell battery that would die just short of two hours — so the fact that MSI has squeezed a 9-cell battery into this newest model without making the case look bloated is pretty impressive. I wonder how well the thing actually performs.

I took a glance at some of the other specs, but none are really as exciting to me as the battery life. It’s still the same Atom 1.6GHz processor as most netbooks I know of, and most of the other specs seem similar to the U100. You can find more info over on Gear Diary, where Dan has listed the full press release.
