I am pretty happily married, and have been since before dating sites like Match.com became all the rage. So, needless to say, I do not have an account at Match.com or any other similar sites. That being said, I can certainly see the value they might offer the modern connected single. In fact, my sister-in-law met her husband that way.
In the interest of making sure this series is complete, therefore, I wanted to mention this app and make sure that interested individuals know that they can access their Match.com accounts from anywhere using their Palm Pre. That being said, I found it odd that a niche site like Match.com has its own dedicated app on the Pre, while one of the most popular sites in the world, Facebook, does not. Still, if this app helps bring busy individuals together…then I am all for it.
Note that you will need to sign up for the paid account in order to send messages. All of the other features, including the location based features, are included with the free account.

I have just been going crazy for Verizon to finally unveil their new phones. I want a cool, new phone, and it looks like I will have new choices very soon. This leaked info from the Boy Genius Report shows the arrival dates of some much anticipated phones. October looks to be a big month with the Storm 2 and Motorola Sholes, aka their Andriod phone, hitting the shelves. Those are the two phones I can’t wait to see in-person, and how they perform. Also slated for the fall are: LG Chocolate Touch, HTC Razzle/Blitz 2, and the Nokia Twist. Debuting this month should also be the Samsung Rogue, and Blackberry may have another treat for us with the Curve 2 out in late November. New toys, here I come!!!
Today you are all in for a real treat, as we are reviewing a very cool black alligator case that I quickly realized became an instant favorite with me from the moment that I opened the box. A special thank you goes to Sena for providing us with a review case.
Sena does a great job with presenting their MagnetFlipper Case, as it is professionally boxed with:
- an attractive red felt pouch
- removable nub for using the belt clip
- belt clip
- 2 screws and an Allen-Wrench to tighten the belt clip nub
- Leather Case protected with a Styrofoam insert
I really enjoy the feel of this case in my hand, as the alligator leather makes for a firm grip of my phone and the sleek fit is molded to exacting specifications. Also I was very pleased that this case accommodates the i760′s extended battery. The pictures below are of the case and my i760 with the extended battery.
All of the buttons are available from the design of the case. However, on the left side of the phone, the storage card slot is covered, which is a minor inconvenience, as in the picture below.
On the right side of the phone, the headphone jack is available, as with all of the other buttons.
The camera is always ready to take pictures and is not obstructed.
One thing I also noticed was that the charge port is covered and for charging the phone it is necessary to remove the phone from the case. I would like to see that port also available in future cases.
Here are pictures of the keyboad fully opened. Note that there is a silver snap that unsnaps allowing the keyboard to open. I really liked the way that the keyboard is protected underneath the heavy plastic and the ease with which I was able to type on the keyboard. The plastic did not obstruct the typing, as I barely noticed the covering. It is also interesting to note that the plastic in no way obstructs the sliding of the keyboard.
I really liked the belt clip which allows for two clicks:
- one click is for a free-turning clip
- two clicks is for a ratcheting clip, that allows the phone to stay in any angle that you set it in.
After tightening the metal nub onto the case and snapping it onto my belt…wow, the phone feels secure on my belt, and I don’t worry anymore about my phone taking “nose-dives” onto the concrete
. I don’t notice that I have the phone on my belt…now that is really nice!
The silver nub can be removed to put the case into your pocket, instead of using the belt clip.
The case also stays closed by a small magnet at the tip of the flap, so that the case stays securely closed while walking. Under the flap are small slots to securely house your micro SD storage media.
All in all, this is a great case and I would recommend it to all my friends. Sena makes a quality product that you can feel the quality while it is in your hands. The stitching is very precise and as a matter of fact, I have never seen such intricate stitching on a phone case before.
What I liked about the case:
Practically Everything, including:
- the sleek fit around the phone
- ample room for the i760 extended battery
- the firm grip of the alligator texture and the feel of the case
- access to all of the buttons, including the headphone jack and camera
- the secure fit on my belt
- the magnetic closure
- the precise stitching and quality design
- the two click belt clip
- the very cool plastic cover, which is almost unnoticeable while typing.
What could use improvement:
- the storage card slot is covered
- the charging port is covered
This case is available from the Sena Store for 49.99 and is available in six attractive styles: Black, Tan, Red, Croco Black or Croco Red.
