Astraware Boardgames for Blackberry, a Collection of Classics, New in JAMM Store

Astraware, one of my favorite mobile game architects of all time, has just released a Blackberry version of their collection of classic board games.  Astraware Boardgames for Blackberry, new to the JAMM Store, builds on the legacy of the traditional Palm OS and Windows Mobile versions that users have been able to enjoy previously.  This will make a great choice for gamers that want handheld game portability but classic game play.  Astraware Boardgames includes:  Chess, Checkers, Backgamman, Ludo, Reversi, Nine Men’s Morris, Snakes and Ladders and Tic Tac Toe.

A free trial can be downloaded from here.  You can also register the full version for $7.99 through September 7th, when the price returns to $9.99.

While visiting the JAMM Store, be sure to check out the other new and updated software titles for your Blackberry.  You can find links to the product pages below!

The Great JAMM Registration Drive: Day 5 – The Grand Finale!

Skooba

And so we come to the Grand Finale of the Great JAMM Registration Drive, and we’ve saved the best for last!

First of all, I’d like to thank you all for participating, and extend a big welcome to our new readers and newly registered members – without you guys, this site wouldn’t be what it is!

Today’s Grand Finale prizes are courtesy of Skooba Design – some of you may remember they recently introduced their new Checkthrough® Backpack Bag, a security checkpoint friendly bag. Well, we have one of those to give away – doesn’t it look awesome!:

But wait, there’s more! They’ve also kindly donated a Checkthrough® Messenger Bag:

Checkthrough Messenger

These are some very, very awesome prizes. So here’s what I’m going to do – I’m going to extend todays Grand Finale through Saturday, and announce the two winners on Sunday.
And so on to the question:

Tell us your flying horror stories, or amusing anecdotes! I know we’ve all got them!

Many, many thanks to Skooba for their awesome donation!

Motorola Android Event – September 10

Motorola announced an Android event.  Gee…I wonder what it could be about.  I am hoping and expecting to see their new Android smartphones (Morrison and Sholes) live with some info about when they will actually be available for purchase.  I am very interested in the Verizon version, Sholes.  So check back to see what they had to say.  I am just hoping this isn’t an announcement for the Android Razr.

New On The iPhone: Facebook And A Bug

image

I have always been impressed by the Facebook app for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  I’ve used Facebook on almost every platform (except Blackberry) and the iPhone version is by far the best.  I really thought it was about as good as it could get, but today it just got a whole lot better.

The main page features a new icon oriented approach, which puts you one step from every major function of the app.  Fantastic!  Swipe across to find the new favorites where you can add shortcuts to your favorite friends and pages.  with over 300 friends and pages, I was thrilled to find this feature.

Now for the bad news.  be very careful updating your status from the iPhone app.  According to Gear Diary, there is a problem with the privacy settings, which allows there allows status updates to be seen by friends of your regardless of privacy filters.  Now, I have to be honest and say that I have never taken the time to even set up privacy filters (though I probably should) but I am sure many of you have.  So, unless you want everyone to know everything…then you should be careful with this.

And just as a reminder, be careful what you post on Facebook.  You do not want to become this person:

fail owned pwned pictures

Or this poor formerly-employed person

So…just be careful out there.  And enjoy the new Facebook app, which is currently available in the iTunes app store, for the always low price of…FREE!
