ageye has recently updated G-Alarm for Windows Mobile Professional to version 2.2. G-Alarm is a very interesting little alarm clock application. Striving to address issues of a finger friendly interface, ageye has incorporated several different ways to disable the alarm, including forcing the user to solve an arithmetic problem or guide a ball through a maze. Right now, G-Alarm is the only program that will actually force me to get out of bed at 4 AM to start the day, as I can set it so that I can’t simply hit a button to dismiss it while still snoozing. See below for the changelog for G-Alarm 2.2 and stay tuned for my full review, coming soon.
2.2 (2009/08/07)

There is so much Zune HD news and pictures floating around that I can barely contain myself. We are slowly inching closer to release date, which is slated for sometime in September. First, let’s take a look at pricing. According to a Best Buy source, as well as the Amazon pre-order page, the 16GB Zune HD will be $220, and the 32GB will be $290. The comparable 16GB second generation iPod Touch is $299, and the 32GB is $399. That is a HUGE price difference. A $100 cheaper for a 32GB Zune, who doesn’t like that.
Next, news about the web capabilities of Zune HD have been scarce, but Cnet has had a chance to have a hands on with the device. They were completely impressed with the web browser, which was developed by MS’s Internet Explorer team. Its good to see MS using the right resources. Have the people that are experts at web browsers design the web browser. Also, though its not much of a shock, but Bling is included as the built-in search engine. One downside, there is currently no support for Flash video and audio, but that sounds like a fix to be made in a later update.
Finally, there are more pictures and videos hitting the ‘net of the much anticipated Zune HD. The FCC photos have been made public. You can see some of the guts of the HD, especially the new NVIDA Tegra chip. Also check out a video of the new Zune HD in action from its San Francisco premiere party. I have to say that I am SOOOO EXCITED about the new Zune HD. I’ve been a Zune fan from the beginning, and now I feel like the Zune will finally get the right kind of attention. Watch-out iPod!!!

Hey, the switch to aluminum worked for the MacBook 13″, so why not for a laptop stand? The LaTosta that I reviewed before was made of 2 oz. of stainless steel and capped with rubber tips. It was designed to fit on almost any laptop to provide a more comfortable viewing and typing angle, as well as improve laptop cooling ever so slightly. I was recently shipped another set to look at, and I have to say I like this one a lot more. The new Latostas (can I do that? can I just make up my own plurals?) are coloured and weigh only 0.72 oz thanks to their aluminum build. They’re so light you won’t even notice them in your gear bag until you need them. The website describes them as feather-weight, and it’s true.
All in all, I’d say you can probably stick to your LaTosta if you already own one, but this new lightweight version is absolutely worth a look if you’re searching for a very minimal laptop stand. The aluminum version’s warranty (two years) doesn’t last as long as long as the stainless steel’s (five years), but as long as you don’t jump on your laptop, both version should last a long while. You can buy the new aluminum LaTostas for $16, and I’ve included a link to the site here to show you the selection of colours.

Our friends over at Clinton Fitch have posted another great review. He tells us all about an application that will keep your Twitter threads under control. Since the application does not take up much memory it is possible to let it run in the background, alerting you to new “Tweets”.
Check out the full review below:
Clinton has included screenshots of the application on both touchscreen and non-touchscreen devices, and as always, the the shots are crisp and clear!
