A Question to You, Dear JAMM Reader: What’s the Best Windows Mobile Finance Software?

My question for all of you Windows Mobile Professional experts out there is simple. What is the best Finance type software to run on the platform and why?
Please indulge me for a moment as I explain the reason for asking… For quite some time, I have been happily running SPB Software’s SPB Finance. All has been progressing fine until the other day when I ran into a somewhat irritating bug in the program. Granted, there is a work around but it isn’t ideal. SPB Software acknowledges the bug in their forums, as multiple user complaints have surfaced, but no action has been taken on it in over a year. This leaves me to believe that there won’t be any official fix to the problem and that the development of the application is essentially “dead”.
I’ve read positive things about Cash Organizer Pro. Is it really great? One thing I’ve read is that the registration seems to be tied to the individual device instead of the owner name. Is this correct? If so, this is unfortunately an issue with me that may exclude a great title from consideration. I’m always paranoid that a company will go out of business, I’ll upgrade to a new device and will then no longer be able to register my beloved program. What are your thoughts on this?
Are there any others that I’m completely overlooking? Am I crazy for not simply living with the workaround? Is Cash Organizer Premium fantastic, as the reviews state? Dear JAMM readers, please let me know. Leave your comments in the section below, as I desperately need your advice!

I am looking for same thing and now trying SPB finance, just wondering why this Cash Organizer Pro never came to my search before? I quickly check & try, it looks almost similar to SPB finance event better, quick entry work better (easy date entry, easier category search, budget review as I needed (budget v actual, not only remaining). Still trying other features.

I had tried MasterSoft’s Money. It is OK, probably better than pocket Money I had when I ran PPC2002, but it seems clunky, and does not sync with a PC.
I recently won a copy of Splash Money, which comes with a PC application, that syncs with the WM version.
I have not tried it yet, but the syncing is a big feature for me, It’ll be nice to be able to see my finances on a big screen, and little screen when needed.
The other thing that looks interesting with Splash Money is that it can connect and communicate with my banks. I’m not 100% sure what it will do when connected, perhaps download transactions or maybe check on-line with what I’ve entered; I have not had a chance to install it, but I am planning on installing and setting it up in the next few days.
I’ll check back after I get it working.

I have used different programs, and always come back to Keep Track from Ilium Software. I have used it on HPC and PPC over the years. When I change to another program I export to QIF, and when going back to Keep Track I import to QIF. This is a really simple program with not so many features. I only use it to balance my checking account, but it can handle various types of accounts.
I have been consolidating my statements on my PPC and now my phone for some years now. I have never experienced a bug in this program, like what happened to me some years ago with Pocket Money for Palm.
I decided some time ago that I did not want a PC to consolidate my statements, so sync function is not important for me. I tried programs like SPB Finance and Cash Organizer because of the features and the reports. SPB did not meet my needs, and after some time I got tired of Cash Organizer, but was a good program.

Not sure if any1 is still following this thread but i m once again looking 4 a new finance app. I have been using SplashMoney 4 a long time & it has been quite good – until now. I switched 2 a touchpro2 & the screens no longer work correctly & heres the bad part, the vendor is no longer planning on supporting WM. & by the way the bank sync never worked 4 me. Thus this leads me 2 dust off this thread 2 c what the current recommendations r…

I didn’t get the bank sync to work either, and my bank said there was nothing they could do about it.
I have not found any finance app for WM that was sufficient.
I think the best was when I had a ppc2002 and used MS Money for ppc. It didn’t do everything, but it kept finances sync’d between PC and ppc.
