NextAction! for Windows Mobile Professional, a GTD Solution, New to JAMM Store

NextAction!, a new solution for the popular Getting Things Done (GTD) to-do management style has just been released in the JAMM Store. The program integrates with the GTD methodology, providing support for contexts in the popular “@…” style, “Next Action” assignment and “Someday/Maybe” support. Best of all, NextAction! is supposed to integrate seamlessly with the built in Tasks database, so that work that you do in the program is synced to the desktop via ActiveSync or WMDC.
You can find out more information about NextAction! here. A free trial is available and you can register for $39.95 through October 22nd, when the application returns to full price at $49.99.

This one looks pretty basic, but integration into the default Tasks database is something that you cannot do on the iPhone.
Of course, here we see another example of price differences. If they tried to sell this to an iPhone customer, it would be a really tough sell. As it is I think $40 or $50 is very over-priced for an application like this. I could see WebIS or SBSH building this into their next update to their PIM products and then you have a full feature PIM replacement for less than this.
I really have to wonder how they came up with this pricing scheme. Maybe they are riding the GTD fad and think that will suck users in, but I couldn’t justify the cost.
Oh yeah, and the fact that the description of the product says Windows Mobile, but the feature list says Blackberry…
“- 100% compatible with internal Blackberry Task Application
- You can use “NextAction for Blackberry” and the internal application simultaniuosly if you want”

screen shot in their site is not that detail and impressive … wondering why they put that price?
I implement GTD (simple one as only for my personal life) on ThumbCal easily , I even try with MyList from SBSH .. which both much cheaper.

I too wonder how they arrived at their pricing. The entire program, not that size is a valid indicator, is under 60KB. I wonder if the BB is much more full featured and they just priced it the same?
OTOH I knew somebody years ago that was selling a fairly straight-forward app he developed for the pound. I mentioned that in my opinion he would do better to lower the price (he was something like $30 for a *Palm* app a good 10 years ago). He declined as he was selling it like crazy at what I thought was too high a price.
