I did not really find the balance to be all that bad. It felt better balanced in my hand and the controls were more thumb-accessible. As often as users would charge the device over its lifetime or sync with a PC, the fact that the sync cover (at least for me) has to be bent down to properly plug in the AC adapter or sync cable.
