Buying The New iPhone 3GS? You May Not Be Getting All You Expected!

Earlier today, we told you all about the new features in the upcoming iPhone 3GS (due to drop June 17).  But what if we were to tell you that some of these features would not be included in your iPhone 3GS. Well, if you live in the United States and connect to AT&T then that is exactly what you will be facing.

The first announced feature you will lose is MMS messaging. Don’t worry though. This should be coming a few weeks after the release. That is the good news.

The bad news relates to tethering, or connecting to the Internet using your iPhone as a modem for your laptop. No sooner had Apple announced this feature than ATT unannounced it. Reports are that ATT will have a tethering plan available in the future, with prices starting at a whopping $70/month. Considering most mobile broadband data plans cost 50-60/month, this is just outrageous.

So what do you think? Will you be upgrading to the new iPhone 3GS? Will these limitations affect your decision? Let us know.
