Has anyone been keeping up with the Palm Pre lately? The Boy Genius Report obviously has as they have already reviewed the unit. On the other front, Palm is haveing a Palm Pre VIP Launch Event benefiting the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America scheduled for 7pm PT on June 3rd in Hollywood. Now, for us non-VIPs, we would probably want to find out more on the details of buying a Palm Pre. According to PalmGoon, Sprint may decide to axe the $100 mail in rebate in favor of an instant rebate much like its partners such as Best Buy or RadioShack. True, if done correctly rebates are as good as cash, it does however cause a bloat due to sales tax on an increased sale. I’d much rather have an instant rebate as I don’t have the hassles of mailing it and freaking out if the rebate doesn’t come through as well as not having to pay sales tax on the amount to be rebated. Just remember that the $199.99 price is after mail in rebate and with a service agreement. Well, I’m excited to see what this phone will bring as well as hopefully a greater following for a somewhat withered Palm.
