Palm Pre…Not Quite An Unboxing

prebox1

Around here, you know we like to present a lot of unboxings.  Some people do this with a video, I prefer photos.  Most of the time, when we get a new device, we’ll take some pics and show you how they are packaged in the box and what other accessories are included.

Well, what I am about to show you is not exactly breaking news more like broken news….Hit the jump for the latest on the Palm Pre.

Sony Ericsson T303a comes to Fido

image006

Hey, look, it’s a Canada-centric post! Huzzah!

Folks looking for a phone with “designer good-looks without the designer price tag” might be in luck with the new T303a on Fido. I’m definitely liking the bolder, more professional look on this lower-end model. It’s a chrome slider that’s looking pretty usable with its gigantic T9 keypad that seems to be divided into strips like a Razr. Main specs include a 1.3 MP fixed focus camera, built-in FM radio, Bluetooth, and a supposed nine hours of talk time.

I definitely like most of the hardware design here, with the exception of the screen. I know it’s a budget device, but it actually looks smaller because of the big gray area that frames it.

You can find the T303a on Fido’s website. It’s $15 with a 2-year contract and $100 without a contract.

Full press release after the jump.

Quick Look: JAMM is an iNews Celebrity

Not too long ago…uhm….right here in this galaxy, I received an email from my good friend Dan, over at What’s On iPhone.  Dan was writing to tell me about a fantastic RSS reader he had discovered, called iNews.  He was also writing to say that JAMM was among a small handful of sites which he had recommended the developers include among the default RSS feeds in the program.  I am very excited, especially in light of recent events, that the developers agreed with Dan, and now include JAMM as one of the preloaded RSS feeds in the program.  So, I felt a closer look was warranted.

Quick Look: FaceBook Goes Native on WinMo

markedpc_capture Before we were rudely interrupted, Microsoft released the first native Windows Mobile application for Facebook. Unfortunately it’s compatible with WinMo 6.xx, and up. Which may still count a lot of people out on this one.

As with other FB clients I’ve tried, even Facebook mobile offers a simplified interface, and supposedly access to all of the major functions that Facebook users want.

Since the latest update to Facebook, that intentionally made it more of a live stream, rather than a static, always needed refreshing, sort of social service! How does MicroSoft’s offering stand up? Quite well actually…

…and we’re back!!! An Open Letter To Our Readers

Dear JAMM friends, readers, advertisers, etc…

I want to start by thanking all of you for your patience and support during the last couple of days.  Trust me when I tell you this has been the most frustrating and stressful time I have ever experienced since joining JAMM back in 2006.   We were only down for two days, but it certainly seems like it has been an eternity (weak cliche, I know).    I wanted to write this quick note to let you know what happened, where you are now, and what you can expect in the future.
