My iPhone loadout has gotten a lot lighter recently. I still love trying out all sorts of cases and carrying methods, but my current setup involves a very thin iPhone cover and a jeans pocket (both sold separately). The iPhone protection comes courtesy of Domeskin, an easily applied set of 3D stickers for my iPhone 2G.
Think of the grip of added grip of a case, the thickness of a plastic skin, and the tattoos of the coolest person you know…all on your iPhone!
Ever embarrassed yourself at a big meeting, or church, or any where else that you really should have turned your phone off, or at least to silent or vibrate? What about at a White House press conference?
I have [not at a White House press conference] on more than one occasion, and it brings a point to mind. “Are we so dependant on our mobile devices [phones] that we disregard some basic etiquette concerning their use, or is it just absent mindedness?”.
Of course many of us go through our daily routine with an always on mobile, face facts, we need to be connected, but consider the ramifications in some situations.
Think about this, if you were a press secretary for the president of the US, your reaction to the first interruption was reasonable, the second really deserved a secret service takedown!
Consider how, where and why you use your mobile in relation to the situation you are in, I implore you!
For those of you who have been anxiously waiting on the edges of your collective seats for Windows Mobile 6.5, well, consider this a teaser. No, i am not about to tell you that you can no download the new update for Windows Mobile to your phone or device. But I do have a little something to wet your appetites. How about a 12 minute video, directly from Redmond, walking through the whole new Operating System. From the lock screen to some fantastic finger friendly menus.
Since we could not embed this one from Silverlight, you will have to head over to Microsoft’s Tech-Ed to watch the whole thing.

And now, Pinkie, Microsoft will take over the [entertainment world]…or so it would seem. News has been floating around the Intertubes today about the previously rumored Zune HD.
Apparently, Microsoft is aiming the upcoming Zune to be a complete entertainment device, combining features from the Zune, X-Box,and even Skybox online storage. The new codename appears to be xYz, highlighting the fact that this will fall somewhere between the X-Box and Zune.
If true, the new Zune or xYz could be the ultimate converged device. But, of course, none of this is true. Or maybe it all is. Frankly, until Microsoft makes an official announcement, we’ll just chalk it up to rumor…wishful thinking…and possibly naive optimism.
So let us know what you think about the recent rash of rumors about the new Zune xYz HD. Will this be the one device that rules them all? Or will it be just another failure to launch? let us know your thoughts in the comments.

This is pretty much self explanatory, and an amusing start to the weekend. Most of us are amused by the advertising antics of Microsoft and Apple, and this latest salvo fired from MacCentral seems to be having a little poke at the “Laptop Hunter” series from MS.
One thing Apple does well, irony
