Well, the last few StationBreaks I’ve done have been quite maudlin and sentimental. Oh, nothing wrong with that at all, but this week is just for giggles!

It’s the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend here in the States, which also marks the unofficial start of summer. There’s nothing better than sitting out on my patio with a glass of wine in hand, listening to tunes and smelling all those barbecues cooking up some fantastic grub. The neighbors all suddenly become best friends, and there are bike rides to the beach, and trips to the mountains being planned. All good camraderie, and summer out here in SoCal is a time for being carefree and enjoying life.

Way way back in the early 1980′s, there was a TV show in the UK called Spitting Image, it was a satirical look at current events and all the main characters were…..well, latex puppets. And they had a few hit songs! This one, dear readers, was a number one hit for 3 weeks, and still gives me giggles when I listen to it and it typifies the traditional English “summer holiday”, and the one hit wonders that typically abound around summer time (The Macarena, for instance!).
