Study Shows that Apple Potentially Holds 50% Mobile Market Share

According to WMExperts, a study done with advertising requests (rather than by sales figures) by AdMob in March 2009 showed that Apple held half the share of Smartphone requests. Of course, to boost numbers the iPod Touch is tossed into the array as it runs Apple’s iPhone OS…just without the phone. With the report of actual sales figures made by both Microsoft with 20 million units sold with Windows Mobile versus Apple’s 37 million units of combined Touch and iPhones, the results of the study are inconclusive. One thing is for sure though, RIM seems to be growing pretty fast, and I’m quite shocked to see how much more popular it is compared to Windows Mobile. The other surprise for me was that Android actually ties Palm despite how long Palm has been around.
