Apple vs Microsoft – Yet Another Round

collage1

Have you all seen the latest commercials? Well, Apple is returning fire with it’s run of the mill "I’m a Mac, I’m a PC" commercials after the latest 3 Microsoft commercials that include Lauren and others buying PCs. According to Gizmodo, the latest flying apples to enter the fray include:

"Time Traveler" – PC goes to the year 2150 to find himself in a freeze.

"Stacks" – iPhoto 2009 can automatically sort pictures with its facial recognition technology vs the manual method.

"Legal Copy" – PC claims to be easy to use….though he’s flooded with legal mumbo jumbo.

"Biohazard Suit" – PC is tethered to shielding while Mac lives a normal life.

One thing for sure about this whole Apple / Microsoft war – it’s makes for great entertainment. Me? I’m a hybrid user….use the right tool for the right job….

While this new batch of ads made me chuckle, the only one I really liked was “Stacks”. I really think Apple could do so much more if they did their Mac vs. PC ads demonstrating great features like Stacks. Heck, they could of even mentioned you can now sort by where the picture was taken by city, state, and location.

However, while I may be tired of the same old “Windows is slow, freezes and gets viruses” routine, they do hit home for those frustrated with Windows (particularly Vista) computers. Many PC users have been curious about Mac, when before these commercials they didn’t know that there was an alternative, and have made the switch because one ad or another hit a little to close to home.

I’m hoping though the attitude of the commercials will change once we see Snow Leopard on the horizon.
