Nintaii: Now on the iPhone, thanks to Concrete Software

I had never heard of Nintaii before, so I was pretty excited when my friends over at Concrete Software suggested I give it a try. It is similar to Sokoban…only different. Like a distant cousin. The basic premise is pretty simple. You have a board composed of squares, like a checkerboard. Unlike a checkerboard, though, this board is irregular in shape, with lots of dead ends, false starts, and other obstacles. Oh and one of the squares is actually a hole in the board. Your job is to maneuver the tower by flipping and rolling it across the board, so that you can stand it over the hole, causing it to slide off the board. Sound easy? Head on over to the iTunes App Store to check it out. In the meantime, hit the jump to read the full press release.
Concrete Software® Inc., a leader in innovative mobile content, announced today the release of Nintaii, an award-winning mobile puzzle game for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Originally published by Mobigloo, a top developer of mobile content, Concrete Software brings this popular game to the world of the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Nintaii has won numerous awards and recognitions, including Best Game of the Year in the BlackBerry Developers Challenge. Like most of the great puzzle games, Nintaii has a simple concept at its core, yet proves to be very challenging with 100 levels to work through. The Japanese term ‘nintai’ means "patience," "perseverance," or "endurance."
Nintaii has proven to be wildly popular with BlackBerry smartphone users. The new version for the iPhone and iPod Touch not only unleashes more of the game’s potential, with slick and intuitive touch screen and accelerometer controls; it also introduces the instant classic to one of the fastest growing mobile markets in the world today. With Apple reporting that customers have downloaded over half a billion applications from the App Store since it opened last July, Nintaii is sure to be met with open arms.
