doug_g Doug: One thing about sites like Gear Diary and Just Another Mobile Monday, we love our gadgets (I know, shocking!) We love playing with them almost as much as we love writing and telling you about them.  Rarely does a week go by when one of us doesn’t have something new and exciting.  Sometimes we purchase these devices just like anyone else, other times we are lucky enough to get the device loaned or sent to us for review.  Rarely has a device created as much buzz, however, as the Kindle 2.  Whether you love it or hate it, it has everyone around here talking. Not just one, but four of us waited impatiently for delivery of our Kindle 2’s.  So, now here we sit – Dan, Judie, Kerry and myself – each of us has used a variety of eBook readers in the past, whether it be a program on Windows Mobile or the iPhone; the Kindle Classic (like Wayne Schultz uses); Tapwave Zodiac and/or Palm OS based devices such as the Treo 650 or the Sony Reader.  With all of this eBook reading experience behind us (not to mention years of reading actual books), we all agreed that the Kindle 2 is the best eBook reader any of us have used.  So, it should come as no surprise that we will all be keeping this awesome gadget.

Here’s why…

Resco brain Games at CFDotCom

pc_capture1

I’m not really a big gamer on any platform, but the only genre of games that I’ve ever been interested in are the Brain Train, improve your mental dexterity sorts. Clinton’s done a great review of the latest version of Resco Brain Games with lots of screen shots, and a full over view of the application.

No matter the platform, brain training games are one of the largest growing segments of game types today. For Windows based phones, this has been no different and one of the latest – and best – offerings is from Resco. The Slovakian developer has recently released Brain Games 2009 and it is a winner. With 44 games in four key categories, this game offers dozens of different challenging levels in finger friendly user interface.

Take A Gander At The New Windows Phone Commercials

OK, so it is not as bad as the swimming through a sea of pink bunnies Zune commercials.  But does anyone else get the impression that Microsoft just does not get it when it comes to market penetration and advertising?  Anyway, take a look at the video and let us know what you think of Microsoft’s latest advertising strategy.  If you were not using a Windows Phone, would this entice you to get one?

What’s in the Works for iPhone 3.0?

On St. Patty’s Day, Apple will be holding an event to tell the world about iPhone 3.0.  What’s in the works?  Well, only Steve Jobs knows for sure, but there has been some speculation.  First, your iPhone is going to be able to work as an ATM and print money directly.  Second, it will turn into a robot that is capable of both driving your car and doing your laundry.  Oh wait, that’s iPhone 30.0.  Sorry about that, I thought the decimal was in a different place.  Although, I bet you were totally excited for a minute.  As for the upcoming Apple event, there will be a demonstration of the new 3.0 software, as well as, a new software development kit for third party designers.  The one feature users want the most is  ‘cut & paste’ functionality.  I can’t see how Apple could ignore including that.  Such a simple task would make so many people happy.  There is also speculation that iPhone 3.0 might give the ability to run more than one application at a time.  A big plus for the Palm Pre is the ability to have apps running in the background.  Apple will not want to be left out or seem to be left behind.  Rumors of a universal search feature to let you search through the whole device are also circulating.  There is no mention of new hardware being displayed, but I never count out the fact that Apple loves a good surprise.
