Free For All: cleanRam from htcAddicts
For most of us ram cleaning utilities are tied up in larger applications, like Pocket Mechanic and MemMaid, and apps like those cost! With the limited RAM on older WinMo devices any way to maximise your RAM usage is welcome, well this little application, and I mean 66 Kb little, it’s a memory lifesaver, when you don’t know where the memory drain is on your device.
Let’s face it, Windows Mobile has a myriad of memory “ball and chains” that are hard to isolate, and even harder to combat. cleanRam is a great free app that let’s you free ram and it’s a no brainer, applications like this really cater to the general user, rather than the power user, but should be welcomed by both.
cleanRam will optimise your RAM with a tap on a shortcut, but it’s not a hit and miss sort of thing, it offers various levels of cleaning that can be set via the config menu
It struck me when first looking at the configuration page, that it’s a purge. A colonic for your windows mobile device if you will, it’s so straight forward its not funny, three levels of cleansing, which you can choose. The end result, though is an optimisation that may help you through your day with winMo.
Once configured, it’s a one tap operation to let the digital metamucil do it’s work.
Give it a try for a budget solution for this problem!
