iWindowsMobile Communication Suite Updated

VITO Technology recently updated their iWindowsMobile Communication Suite to version 1.8. One of the main features of the Suite is an updated version of Winterface, an iPhone-esque launcher for Windows Mobile Professional devices. You can now choose between the old black theme or a new brighter theme that also has larger icons. Another nice feature of this Winterface update is the ability to switch into windowed mode so that you can still see the standard Windows Mobile notifications, start menu, time, and other important notifications that Windows Mobile sticks up there. Winterface is one of the great UI options out there that compares to TouchFLO and SPB Mobile Shell in usability for common and power users.
See what else is updated in Communication Suite after the break…
In addition to Winterface, VITO also includes the latest versions of the following:
- Weather – A weather app that will automatically update your weather and matches the Winterface theme.
- FunContact – A finger-friendly contact app.
- ZoomBoard – A finger-friendly keyboard that can replace the standard Windows Mobile SIP keyboards to be more touch friendly.
- SMS-Chat – A finger-friendly (see a trend here?) threaded SMS application that is even better than the default threaded SMS view on Windows Mobile 6.1.
It is good to see developers like VITO Technology pushing the limits of Windows Mobile these days. These touch-friendly applications are great on devices like the HTC Touch HD and Touch Pro. If you are a Windows Mobile user that wants to find even more reasons to keep the stylus in the silo, VITO is there for you.
Below is the full press release we received from VITO:
February 16th, 2009. VITO Technology Releases New Version 1.8 of iWindowsMobile Communication Suite. Communication Suite makes your Windows Mobile device look stunning with new graphics and finger-friendly interface and reveals the real potential of Windows Mobile touch screen device.
iWindowsMobile Communication Suite has in it all 5 bestsellers from VITO Technology inlcuding new Winterface 1.31, and the forever favorites SMS-Chat, FunContact, ZoomBoard and an improved free Weather app with added options and all bugs fixed.
If you haven’t tried our new Winterface 1.31 yet, here is what you will find different in it. It offers you the possibility to choose between black skin with white stylish icons or bright one with colorful icons and 3d images. Furthermore what makes Winterface even more attractive is the ability to switch on or off Windowed mode. This mode allows you either to show or hide the standard top WM bar that shows the essential info like start button, time, profile, mobile operator, etc.
Together with the new Winterface 1.31 this is what Communication Suite includes:
FunContact for managing all your contacts in a fun way with clear and stylish icons.
SMS-Chat for threaded SMS on your device where all SMS written and received appear in a very user friendly way.
ZoomBoard for finger-friendly typing with options to add any language you need. Weather gives you regular updates on weather of the day and weather forecasts. The new Weather gives the option to choose how frequently updates should appear: every hour, 3 hours or 12 hours. The skin of Weather app changes together with the Winterface skin. All major bugs have also been fixed.
You can see screenshots,, a video, download a free trial, or purchase the iWindowsMobile Communication Suite from the JAMM Software Store. Also watch out for a full review of the iWindowsMobile Communication Suite 1.8 right here in the coming weeks.
