I didn’t feel the Earth Move! Microsoft Promises…
One of the everlasting gripes that Windows mobile users have is the lack of development of the operating system. Also the way any updates flow on the end user. If you have a device supplied by any service provider eg; locked to a network, you don’t have a choice, unless your service provider, via the OEM releases an update to your device’s ROM, you are stuck with what you’ve got, unless you are partial to trying out cooked ROM’s from other sources.
With the price of current handsets tripling at times, the price of current netbooks, you could surmise that we would be seeing an upturn in the use of VoIP services, and therefore a lot of news about the aforementioned services, seems not. One thing Windows Mobile users are is loyal, and the “fit’s in a pocket device”, Phone, is something that won’t go away, but what is Microsoft’s plan to assure an incredible device experience? Well the “Ballmer” of Monkey dance fame, is talking forward…
Windows Mobile has been sluggish to say the least and some minimum requirements for going forward, I posted yesterday, but even bigger news is MS is going to concentrate on mobile more.
This is one of those times when I question, is this spin or is it ‘actuality’ reality, and I’m thinking it’s spin. Obviously Steve’s been prescribed some Valium as well.
Apparently, MS are on to it, no more slow updates for Windows Mobile, excuse me for a moment while I go and buy a lottery ticket, I have to say though this seems like a prescription response, to cover the vast diversification of Windows services, operating systems, and a real need to catch up with things they didn’t place enough value upon.
Case in point, anyone remember Windows Me? Then there was Vista, loved and hated, a virtual wall for Microsoft to get over. The bread and butter of Microsoft’s program evolution plan!
Maybe they have diversified too much, and the desire to dominate every sphere of the computing world has led to a defrag of the most successful OS’s that they have at the moment?
It’s being widely reported that Windows Mobile users are going to see some changes, to say the least I’m sceptical. Smoke and Mirrors
