A Quick Look At A History Of The United States…On Your iPhone.

IMG_0127 IMG_0141

Most of our frequent readers know, by now, that I am a lawyer.  I am also a fervent student of United States history devouring what my wife calls, “boring books about people who have been dead for hundreds of years.”  In both of those pursuits, I am always referring to the documents which helped create the United States.  This includes the usual suspects: the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, of course.  But my interests also branch further to include numerous historical texts, Supreme Court opinions, and more.  In addition to these historical documents, I also have a frequent need for current information, such as the names and addresses of Members of Congress, or high ranking officials in the Executive Branch.  Of course, while all of this information, and plenty more is readily available, it also fills tens of thousands of pages (or more) in hundreds of books.  not exactly easily accessible.  But now, you can have all this and more with two new programs on your iPhone and iPod Touch. Let’s take a closer look at Manual for the United States of America and U.S. Historical Documents.

Feeds – iPhone RSS Reader Plus…

photo

I have long been on the search for the “perfect” iPhone RSS reader. Over time a few specifics have become clear. At least for me…
-it needs to sync with Google Reader
-it needs to be fast
-it needs to have offline access
–it needs to have the “Next Post” button on the bottom where is it easily accessible.

Tonight I may just have found the RSS Reader of my dreams… Feeds.

Speck’s Valentines Day Sale

Speck is having their ‘Spexy’ Valentines Day sale.  They are offering 25% off all of their black, red, pink, and purple cases.  So, if you were looking to treat yourself, now is a great time.  The sale is going on until Feb. 14.  However, if you are looking for romance, I would suggest roses over electronics cases.  As a geeky gadget girl, I might like it, but I would have to guess that I’m in the minority.

Poor Mike Smith, but hurray for us!

SPB Wallet 2.0 is out on the App Store and ready for download. It costs $9.95 for the iPhone app and another $9.95 for the desktop program(there’s a 15-day trial, though). One thing I really like about all the latest SPB releases are all the walkthrough videos they post on their website to show off all the new features. You can check out the new video here and hit the jump for the whole press release.

Also stay tuned for an upcoming JAMM reviews of the Windows Mobile and iPhone versions of Wallet 2.0. :)

Review: Sena iPod Touch 2G Milano Flip and Premium Stand cases

Resized 41

As long as iPods insist on having that crazy scratch-me-silver back panel we will always have iPod case companies. But even when that silver panel finally dies and goes away, I’ll still look for a Sena case to cover my iPod with. That simple low tech + high tech combo of natural leather and shiny gadget make a great pair. All it takes is a look at the pic above and I think you’ll agree.
